Thanks for the video, congrats on enduring that tough course. That used to be the Ring of the Reeks cycle for the most part but rebranded as L'etape. Nothing really prepares you for Ballybeaghama Gap 😂😂😢😢 double figure gradient and not enough gears😂, well done again and keep pedalling 😊

Now ya said it pal 💯…yeah I pushed on a bit going down, had to put the camera away when I was really motoring down them. Next time I’ll have a camera property mounted to really get a feel for it 🤙

@@derekfeehan you can get a gopro mount that attaches to the bottom of a Garmin out front mount. The gopro is upside down so you have to switch the footage but it's rock solid and doesn't interfere with the handling of the bike 👌

I wasn’t long gone past it and knew I made a mistake 🤣 yeah a good part of it is on the same road as the ring of Kerry. I’ve done that a few times but first time going the Ballaghbeama pass and it was beautiful. I’d say probably even a better route.

Yeah I was down in Waterford yesterday. Kk, Dungarvan, Dunmore east and back to Kk. I was in a world of hurt by Waterford 🤣 I’m using DJI action 5, the new one just out. I actually think I prefer the DJI 4.

That food stop you ignored was the main food stop, lovely pre-packed sandwiches. Cracking route but hopefully they do a bit more promotion next time to get the locals involved, plastering signs up saying "Road Closed, L'etape" means nothing to most people, they should have included Tour de France.

What was the turnout like? The prices were insane, Ballaghbeama is a fantastic pass to cycle, prefer it with nobody else around!

I’d say 2,500 maybe by looking at the numbers people had on the bike. Looked a good turnout anyway. Prices did seem a bit steep for the gold package, I went bronze at €135 all in. Not too bad I thought. Closed roads, excellent feed stations and good event village at the end.
