I think Urban Downhill should not be done in the rain.... edit: I know the crash wasn't due to the rain per see, but while you say you loved it all the way you did look pretty sketched out about the state of the streets prior and I wonder if that might have messed with your head to the point it contributed to the crash. I know testing/training is important, but if it's so slippery what gains do you get from riding it in those conditions when you're not going to race in conditions like that anyway? ps: What were your injuries? Looks like underarm/wrist? Hoping for a quick and full recovery.

Not an expert but for me it looks as if some control mechanisms didn't work. There should have been a guy at the shark fin to stop following riders before they jump. Waving a red flag or something like that immediately.

I feel for you Blake, just fractured my right shoulder a month ago over rotating a jump going way to fast. It's not the end just a new stage in the sport. You're one of the best riders on the planet and were all rooting for your speedy recovery.

That was a gnarly hit Blake. Here's to a quick recovery. Glad you're up and about. Did you get a dislocated shoulder or do your collar bone? That sling under the shirt is suggesting some damage. You take it easy for a while. You've fallen off a cliff and crashed hard onto the road in just a few videos, go relax with a nice cup of tea and a donut. We want happy, healthy Bingers, not bingled, banged up Bingers.

Im not in this sport nor have I ever tried it but I genuinely enjoy watching these. I was in a really bad motorcycle accident about 9 months ago where i blacked out twice. I woke up on the road dizzy and seeing headlights in my face. I understand how scary it is to not know what happened. I broke/shattered bones in my foot and my right shoulder while also suffering severe road rash. Im glad you walked away with some minor injuries but I just wanted to say I know the pain of not knowing what happened. Kudos to you friend. ❤from the states

Wow Blake that was crazy crash. I see your arm in a sling, hope you didn't break anything. I didn't know you were participating in that race because I was watching it and that track was nuts. Going high speeds and anything around you is stone or concrete. So I can imagine any crash would hurt. Good thing that padding was there, but still hearing that all too familiar sound of the wind being knocked out of you. You still took it like a champ. Much respect for even signing up for that race. Urban downhill is some of the most insane riding a person can endure. For that aspect I find it exhilarating. Interesting though to see that race day wasn’t postponed due to a lack of being able to rehearse enough for the event. Likely a safety issue in that. The crash is unfortunate Blake hope you can bounce back soon.
