I think the difference in the Laguna bronzers is- the one with the shimmer is the original Laguna. The matte is probably the Sun Wash formula that came out a few years back.

When Sabrina, the beauty look book, reviewed the Man Ray collection, she noted- "Laguna is the Sun Wash formula which is a stiffer almost hybrid kind of formula. The full size ended up being a bit muddy on me, but as most NARS fans know - the Laguna individually (regardless of formula) isn’t always the same as the ones you get in the palettes. The palette Laguna is still very stiff and sheer, but it’s not quite as muddy."

Great job decluttering! I have a Nars face palette and a Nars single, both with Laguna bronzers but different formulas. I think the shade is such a cult fave that they made it into different formulas..

Yes, NARS has many different bronzer formulas and carries the Laguna shades in their multiple formulas. They have a shimmer finish, a “sun-wash” finish (“blurring”), and a matte finish.

I don't have much facepalettes. I have a blushes/bronzerpalette of Benefit, a small travelpalette of Tarte, one facepalette of NYX and a facepalette of Hourglass. Also I have a highlighterpalette of ABH, where I use the darkest shades as blushtopper or in my eyelook. I think with facepalettes that it is hard to find a complete palette that you can actually use all shades.

@Samantha March : as far as I know Nars has two types of Bronzer formulas since a few years ago. One traditional powder bronzer and one in a baked-jelly formula (the latter one is called sun wash diffusing bronzer). As I see from the palettes: one has a traditional powder formula and the other is a baked formula. I might just be that the two formulas have slightly different shades for Laguna

Nars has 2 formulas of the Laguna bronzer. The veil pallette is the Sun Wash Diffusing bronzer which is a newer formula from a couple years ago. The other is the original formula that everyone loves. I personally love both, the Sun Wash formula is more sheer and harder pressed with less shimmer but unfortunately I believe they have discontinued this newer formula. I hope that helps!

Thank you! I needed this! Crazy last few days! I literally had a panic attack not many hours ago, and I think is just because it has been nonstop talk and news watching in my house. I finally said enough and have just been looking at makeup for the last hour. I love the CT bronze and glow, one of my most used products ever! I also decluttered most contour/highlight six pan palettes from my collection when I moved, just don't need them anymore!

I have a face palette from Nars that I bought just because it had the shade Laguna in it. My Laguna in my palette had almost zero color payoff, and I couldn't understand the hype over this bronzer. But now I'm curious if Nars is making different variations for each one of their palettes. I could have also got a defective palette, very interesting Nars.

I wish there were more pallets that included a contour color because so many people are using bronzer as contour when (from what I understand) contour is supposed to be cool-toned to mimic shadow (vs the warm-toned bronzer). Like I want the contour, bronzer, blush and highlight all in one because I don't like having so many products laying around (small apartment means less storage lol).

The matte Nars palette is the original Laguna bronzer, the veil palette is a different formula from when they were doing more cream to powder style palettes. I think you kept the right ones. Straight up contour palettes don’t get me. A face palette needs a bronzer, blush and highlighter as a minimum. I really want to get the Smashbox Cali contour palette. Stephanie Marie loves it. 🥰

Better than I could do :) In regards to the Nars bronzers in the two palettes, it looks like the one in the first palette is the OG Laguna and the one in the second palette is possibly in the Sun-wash (I think that's what it's called) Bronzer formula. I have both formulas and that's what it looks like on camera, from my perspective, but I could be entirely wrong. It's still weird that they made the tones so different, but they're both beautiful, nonetheless.

This really was a brutal one, lol! Chapeau Sam, you did so good 😍 I rarely buy face palettes anymore because I tend to use single products. Maybe because my face palettes are stored in another place then my everyday makeup because of their size. Also, if I've already used a single bronzer, a palette doesn't come to my mind for blush and highlighter 🤔❤

There are 2 different formulas of Laguna. One is original, and that’s the one you have in the palette that you love. The other formula is “sun washed” if I remember correctly, and that’s the one that is in the palette with the “watermelon” blush.

I’ve been waiting for this de clutter and when I saw BRUTAL DE CLUTTER I knew it was going to be so good!! The Ofra pallets are very pretty! I’m so beyond excited to get your collection!! Are you going to do a mascara de clutter, or did you already do that one? If I remember 🤔 there have been a couple different Laguna formulas in the past, could be wrong but I’m 98% sure there have been some variations in that bronzer. Laguna bronzer - one is normal laguna, and other one is called sun washed bronzer, which is more matte. There is two of them and they are completely different :)

I've definitely seen others make comments about the Laguna bronzer in the palette with the dappled texture... and from I heard, Laguna was reformulated at one point in history and I think there was like two different lagunas at one point... a matte and a clearly not matte one. You're definitely not the first to point out nars laguna looking different in two different palettes or that one palette compared to a single.

NARS has laguna in each of their different formulas with different finishes. Maybe the discrepancy is from the bronzers being different finishes? I enjoy watching your videos because they are so calming :) no matter what the topic is
