Nice to see SVG up there in his first cup race at a Superspeedway. Imagine what he could do with team mates to support him. It was disappointing to see his run at the top thwarted by a more experienced driver pulling in front of him and bogging down. But so far he has either been very lucky or it's skill that he's been right there when other cars have wrecked but he manages to finish in an untouched car.

All I heard this week on FOX & KZbin was, this is a must win for Ford. They sure didn't tell their drivers. Lap 114 - The 22 & 2, getting up to speed after pitting, pull up in front of the 17, 41 & 10 going full speed & try to block both lanes. Then on the last lap, the 34, 6 & 10 are leading the field - they block each other again & Reddick wins.

Lead Changes and green flag passes aren’t the best metric to determine good races from bad ones. I’m pretty sure a “Lead Change” or “Green Flag Pass” can count as a car getting 1 inch ahead of another and the positions change, and considering that the Gen 7’s biggest super-speedway flaw is the grid locking and it being so hard to move out of line, or form a third lane, those positions will swap constantly when they are so locked together, that may look good for metrics, but bad to the naked eye. This is just my opinion, but no this is NOT super-speedway racing at it’s finest, I mean the most recent Atlanta race had 25 less lead changes and I think only 1/3 of the avg. green flag passes per lap, but everyone agrees that race beats any talladega race with the gen 7 TENFOLD.

I wonder if McDowell doesn't block the 2nd move Brad made and stays to outside with Brad, uses the side draft I think Michael gets the win ( or Brad) but happy for Reddick.

Bro I have no idea why so many people were complaining about the "speed." Like maybe I'm not as fanatic about the sport as others but I didn't notice the change in speed visually at all; what I did notice was that it wasn't a boring-ass train for three hours. Like... c'mon... how is that NOT OBVIOUSLY better?

It's the fact that fuel mileage racing is supposed to happen naturally, this is Nascar once again purposely creating a fuel mileage race. It doesn't happen naturally. Just like the elimination and reset rounds in the playoffs, Nascar is trying to create drama UNNATURALLY!! Playoffs should be the same 10 races(maybe different tracks here and there) and no elimination rounds or resets! Just 10 races and whatever driver collects the most points wins the championship!

Don't mind the fuel saving during the stages. What I do mind, same as you, is that you can't generate a runs/a line at all. A third plus line just isn't manageable, and it make the two wide racing feel illegitimate or cheap. They are just running side by side and not really changing positions or anything.

The reason Ty Gibbs destroyed the third lane was most likely because he braked and intentionally slowed them down. Smart move honestly, that eliminated the competition for Toyota. The Next Gen seems fine at superspeedways, it can do three wide. I just think drivers have become much more cautious and passive about going three wide in the Next Gen era.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Anthony Alfredo out of nowhere in lesser competitive equipment, got Top 10's! Also the run B.J. McLeod had before the car ran out of fuel was amazing. He led like 3 laps I believe and was super competitive, where both a Rick Ware and LiveFast car led a lap in today's race. That LaJoie crash also scared me too, and prayers for Erik Jones. I also hate it for Michael McDowell as well.

I liked how strategies almost played a role today and independent teams were doing their best to be relevant in this race and Noah Gragson almost pulling out a win for SHR if not for Tyler Reddick sneaking one by on Brad Keslowski to get a win I thought for sure the #6 crew were getting a “W” today coming from a Hendrick Kyle Larson fan 🤘🏻I loved the racing today and agree on the groovey gauge!

Blocking in the tri oval should be a drive thru penalty when causing a wreck. If it's the last lap. Last position on the lead lap. This would stop the whole 20 car wrecks at superspeed ways

I hope you video do this week will be about the xfinty race on Saturday and how hailee Deegan came so Close to her first top 5 maybe even win if Herbst didn't go high and left her out to dry seriously, her strategy worked, she was last yes, but was 4th on the final restart, but if Herbst had just pushed her, she would've probably had a top 5 in the xfinty series and maybe just maybe a win
@AlexE5250

Yeah it was a good strategy call, unfortunately she was just too slow to get help at the end. If Herbst pushes her, he’s going to be slower. It’s better for him to go around and draft off someone else. But she was close.

Shame on Fox for not following up on Jones. I was asking for a long time after the wreck if he was okay. Found out on Twitter within minutes about his back, the broadcast said nothing. I get not speculating, but when you have the car audio, they can at least say something. They cut away from the shot of the crew bringing out the medical cloth and said nothing else except that it took them extra time to get him out of the car. The angle of that wreck made me extremely worried.

We all know what the DBC crew will say. JHN wrecks the field again Don’t think the McDowell move was late, but he was loose and lost it. Would have been interesting if he had picked a bump from Reddick if he could have come back at Brad at the line.
@ravagingwolverine666
@ravagingwolverine666 Ай бұрын
I would add that McDowell's last block likely would have worked had Brad not gotten that push from Noah. With things moving so quickly, Noah's bump might have come after McDowell's spotter told him to block low. So I agree it wasn't late as far as when he made the decision. Brad just picked up that surge of momentum. The way they touched, the 34 was very nearly there.

Once those Toyotas started to fishtail while they were hooked up, it was like pushing a chain. Eric, THANK YOU for pointing out that superspeedways have ALWAYS been mostly a matter of driving around in circles until Go Time. Clear back when the Bodines were beating each other up on the track and arguing off track I was complaining that plate racing was most of an afternoon of sheer boredom followed by 30 laps of sheer terror. I'm just thankful we no longer spend 10 minutes holding our breath to see if everyone lived like we did in the old days. How's that for perspective?
