Don't worry Eric. There won't be an economy by mid season anyways. Denny is just getting ahead of all the contracts cancellations coming this year. Those cars are going to be down to the base coat.

I think penske does the right thing when it comes to sponsors sign the sponsor to the whole organization and then roger and the sponsors split it up between the 3 cars no other organization does that there's some teams that sign sponsors for multiple cars but they're not for the organization

Im sorry but the small track race is just so bad. It epitomizes why non-nascar people dont watch Nascar. I tried to get some friends to watch it. They all made fun of on stupid it is to drive in small circles. I couldn’t agree more. Cant wait for real track racing.

Think Hamlin is probably paying a price with the lawsuit and sponsorship just my guess and I get the nostalgia but doing the Clash on a postage stamp with cup cars not sure I'm feeling it but glad to get Nascar back atleast.

I think Denny Hamlin's biggest sponsorship issue is that he's seemingly in the winding down stage of his career, hasn't won a championship and is getting older. Add to that he's a bit controversial (not the most popular driver, and has an existing lawsuit against what are essentially the people holding the keys to approval) and I think he's not attracting sponsors.

Did nascar advertise this and i missed that? Didnt even know these were on.

I think Hamlin will leave JGR and drive for 23XI for the last 2-3 years before he retires. Being an owner/driver I would think he could have a sponsor with a slightly less monetary commitment since he doesn't only get paid as the driver but as the owner as well. He would still make his money even though the sponsor is kicking in a little less than they would need to at JGR.

Is it possible DH sponsorship issues are due his willingness to share everything every week?
@kevinkennedy6613 сағат бұрын
why NASCAR thinks its fans want to see a 1/4 mile race at a facility they never heard of or care about. Take it back to Daytona and allow only pole winners again instead of letting every Tom, Dick and Harry in the field. All we get again for the fourth year is a carnival ride, bumper cars, is only fun when you're in the vehicle.

Sponsorship doesn't cover a drivers salary. Sponsorship covers the financial costs of running a car. Danny Hamlin will be receiving some financial income from Toyota in conjunction with his contract as a driver with Joe Gibbs Racing being covered by Joe Gibbs Racing out of funding separate from any sponsorship agreements in place. Danny Hamlin mentioned it was an issue for Joe Gibbs Racing to be concerned about in relation to funding the #11 for a full season as it's a Joe Gibbs Racing car he is driving... Kyle Busch left Joe Gibbs Racing because Joe Gibbs Racing at the time did not have the funding in place to fully fund the #18. If a team cannot put a car on track due to a lack of funding, a driver will look elsewhere, in Nascar, F1, F2, Indycar or the Australian supercars championship. The only time a sponsor has any type of control in relation to a driver, is if the driver is the person who brings the sponsorship funding with them as a pay driver, as often the driver doesn't get paid and the sponsorship covers the cost of putting the car on track and covering any damages to the race car..

I was front row start/finish line. They had the clamps on the modifieds for sure, but the Show Stopper put on a show in taking the fan challenge and winning from the back for an additional $5k purse. As far as Cup, I ended up in the background of the pre-race driver photo! Pretty cool to have legends just wandering around and getting to hear them shoot the breeze. The Cup racing was… okay. One thing that struck me: This was kind of like watching the UFC showing up at an indy wrestling show and seeing elite fighters trying to put each other through flaming tables. Entertaining for sure, but not to be taken seriously. An exhibition event at its finest! Can’t wait to be back tomorrow!

Thank goodness for SVG bringing some actual racing skill sets to this race. Trail braking and using the brakes to steer the car instead of using the brakes to stop the car. Unfortunately some chose to use the car in front as their brakes and that doesn't require much skill as we can all do that at the fairground on the dodgem cars..
