When I trashed my last engine on a Friday night test and tune prior to my first national event and without any knowledge of what was going on, my wife and best friends bought me a ZZ383 and had it installed and running by Thursday morning. Once I arrived home from a business trip, to my surprise I walked into my buddy Gary’s garage to see and hear my car running. Gary looked at me and said “get ready to run your first national event. What better wife and friends could you have to give me such a gift to run my first national event on my 50th birthday with a brand new engine. Life just can’t get any better.

I couldn't be more happier witnessing the resuscitation of the Malibu, the biggest thing I get from this is even with new quality Parts things can still go wrong witch means throwing your engine rebuild together cutting too many corners just to make it work increases the chances of engine failure in its many forms and this is certainly not the case demonstrated here, glad to see the Malibu back and ready for testing. phenomenal turnaround guys this is very impressive.

Bill/Kenny, Next paint job, try putting a couple coats of clear coat or have Mark mix you up some single stage paint in Chevy orange for the block. It keeps them super shiny, it also holds up to oil, brake cleaner, temperature, etc! Makes cleanup a breeze too. It’s easier, cheaper and faster to just apply the clear coat over the engine paint your using, but your choice. We always use regular automotive clear coat or single stage paint and it looks great. You can apply the clear coat over top the spray paint and it works just fine. Just tell Kenny to pull the masking tape off right after he applies the clear coat or single stage paint. If not, sometimes it can pull the edges if it’s already cured/hardened. Engine looks amazing! Can’t wait to see it run. 🤘

It's Back! I love that body style on the Malibu's and you have one of the nicest ones around anywhere. Congratulations to you and the crew. I was a little off on my Horsepower # guess ,but I went back and saw why. You lowered the compression some and the camshaft is a little smaller than I was thinking. That little 421 sounds dang good and will make all of the power when you start spraying it. 2 weeks is a dang near impossible time frame to do all that you did, but that goes to show that all of the hard work and relationships that you've made over the years is really paying off and will continue to get better. You definitely have one of the best crews around and this was a total team effort. As someone who has been following your racing journey over on Instagram way before ant of the KZbin channels were going I'm dang proud of all of you. It's so good to see you get back behind the wheel of what will be a very competitive street driven car. You've worked long and hard to accomplish these goals and it's really nice to see it happen to you and your family. 2023 is going to be a big year for you, Billy and Tommy.
