Spark Plugs NEVER LIE! We found 50hp on the Dyno by READING PLUGS? Jimmy Dale’s 434 is DONE!

We had a rough week at Bob’s but after 2 days of struggling with the new Dyno equipment, Jimmy’s 434 made less power than my 421 in the Malibu?
WHY??? Well, a quick plug reading told me all I needed to know.

It was good to see the live stream heartfelt moments when you heard/saw your Nova running again. But I have to say, watching one of or maybe the same video Idk, it was awesome to hear Billy say what he said about the Nova!! How much it meant to him, that it had always been around when he was little, how it pained him see it sitting robbed of parts. Parts that had been robbed for his truck etc. that was what made it for me!! Seems like its the boys “55 Chevy” in a way. And it will never go anywhere its family!

You're absolutely right about Tommy! Just learn it and do it! I refuse to pay to have a cage put in my Camaro with so many awesome fitting pre-notched cages to buy. This one though, I really want to get chromoly and tig weld it, so I'm looking for a decent priced tig welder to try my hand in. I've been welding since high school, well over 20yrs now, just never used a tig torch. Once I feel comfortable and my metal breaks before the weld, I'll put it in!lol. Thanks guys, and btw, Tommy's truck is looking killer, especially for the boy doing all the work himself! I don't think Tommy gets the credit he deserves...always trys to play like he don't know what he's doing, but he's pretty damn smart!

I don't play with 11sec. cars, this will be an easy 8 second street car! If I felt my welds weren't up to par for NHRA cert., then I'd pay someone!

That was a very happy man at the end of video revving his rebuilt motor- his smile tells me Bob/Bill duo knocked another engine build out of the park. Very impressive and happy for Jimmy, a rebuilt motor running tip top is a cool feeling- bet he shows everybody back home first thing how good his motor is running now. Hell yeah.

My 355 30 over 350 made the same amount on the dyno 602hp has iron eagle dart 230 heads and kryptonite crack and eagle rods and mallory 11.5 pistons all roller 615 lift old Andre at crysler automotive center here in ontario canada built it he builds championship race engines even has extra beefy main caps 0010 block

With efi, you can tune all the cylinders even. You can do individual cylinder trim to even them out.

Do they stay that way? Or do injectors get dirty and lean the air fuel mixture? How do you know without individual EGT? You don’t.

@The Old Man’s Garage same problem with carburetor... what if a jet gets dirty and clogs up. The difference with a heavily modified engine is that you can have the computer change it on the fly. Instead of melting a cylinder, it can save the engine. A lot of guys with a lot of money in their engine have 8 x 02 sensors, but most have 8 egts. EgT's versus building another engine. There's literally nothing that a carburetor can do that fuel injection can't. Now I'm not saying you shouldn't run a carburetor if that's what you want more power to you. I've been running stand-alone for 19 years, and I've never had an injector clogged up, and the key is running multiple filters on the feed and the return side. I've gone through plenty of motors, and it's always been a mechanical limit that I was way past that caused the failure.

And that could be a good reason to take the old girl out to test and tune one never knows might need a little TLC carb. You get all the little bug's out.
