Everyone in this band is great, obviously, but I'm really impressed by Away's performance here, he never was a hyper-technical gifted drummer as other people, but he always compensate that with amazing creativity on his fills, and drum patters, maybe that's a part of being technical at the end of the day, but I believe creativity is always more important than rather being fast, and hyper technical, especially when it comes to Voivod music, he such a fantastic drummer and artist, love him.

That's right!. He's like a punk drummer, but his playing is a voivod brand. And Away is the most important part of the creativity on the band, the album covers and distopic themes, everything. He's a real artist.

Agreed, I was just listening to "Tribal Convictions" and accidentally had my thumb on the screen to where it was sped up slightly. Kept thinking Jesus this is some of the most insane shit. It's not that I don't think he and the band aren't capable of that speed, it would just make the already out there music even more difficult for most people to get into. It would be like the band Athiest, they are fucking nuts and brilliant, but it's something to take in low doses. I could dance around to Voivod all day long

@@jurgenv.6030 Yeah man. For sure. I actually had not followed them after Piggy died. I figured, how can thy keep going without Piggy, and Blackie for that matter. But i was a fan of Martyr in the day, and i clicked on a guitar playthrough of "Chewy" playing some of their stuff. That's when i found out he had been Voi Vods guitarist. And i was like holy sht this is the guy who stepped into Piggys shoes. I'm all about it. So i checked them out again and i'm like. There is no on else that could have done this so true to the spirit of Voi Vod.

Instant chills, 40 years a fan and still get the chills when I see them in a live capacity. I have to see this lineup before we die, I have only seen Voivod with Eric Forest on the tour for Voivod Lives, I took my brother Matthew with me to see them and it's a fond memory as my brother heckles them by shouting songs they were not going to play.

that's hilarious, man. i saw them with Eric too right after Phobos came out. ya... the only non Negatron/Phobos stuff they did was Astronomy Domine and Tribal Convictions. It was still amazing. They were tight AF and their sound was unreal. Better than Iron Maiden who went on after them. Piggy was amazing. He was doing cool slide stuff with this toy laser gun that was lighting up. And Eric's voice was deadly perfect. I've have seen them with this line up too. I got to watch Snake play bass and guitar at the same time for the intro of Lost Machine. Incredible performance. Dan is the man. Amenra opened up the show. I had never heard of them. I left that night a fan for life. wow. Amenra. what an experience.
