Brutally Cutting Crazy Tall Brush with the SOLO AL-KO T22-110 HDH Ride On Mower!

The T22-110 HDH-A V2 is suited for orchards or areas of particularly long grass thanks to its high three-blade grass mulching deck. The AL-KO PRO 700 twin cylinder engine provides sufficient power for the tractor to deal with the thickest of grass.
One of the main features of the T22-110 HDH-A V2 is its large heavy-duty chevron tyres which provide optimum traction whilst working on uneven terrains. The three bladed mower deck provides a 110cm cutting width whilst the cutting heights can quickly be adjusted in seven stages between heights of 30 - 90mm.
Built on the solo by AL-KO premium platform, this high grass mulching tractor not only offers performance, but also comfort thanks to its high-backed drivers seat, sports style steering wheel and the foot hydrostatic transmission enabling the user to quickly adjust the drive speed.

If you think the grass cutting is impressive, then try take it to the woods. I have some very elevation rich forest here, and I have used this lawnmower to haul 40 cubic meters of pine wood in a alko trailer rated at 400kg - the combo is easily dragging 600-800kg on the trails. I did mount a electrical winch in the front to both pull logs - and to save me when the displacement just isnt enough to pull the entire rig out of the mud. I am absolutely mindblown at what this tractor have done - beyond cutting the 1 acre of lawn and few km of forest trails. If you have any need for a lawnmower and very capable micro tractor - go get it! Its a beast of a little machine.

Bought one last summer (2022) and its fantastic for my use. Unplugged the limit switch on the left side of the transmission so it doesnt shut off the cutting deck while reversing. That alone saved me 20-30min cutting my lawn.

cant you just turn the key one step or something, very common

Unfortunately not. There is a reverse switch next to the key, but you need to press it every time the transmission is returned to neutral. So if you reverse a little bit and stop or drive forward the button needs to be pressed again before you can reverse again. That quickly adds up to many, many hundreds of times every time. I guess its due to some safety EN standard. Two spade connectors with a short wire is all it takes to bypass it.

Yeah they could, it’s aimed at domestic users at a reasonable price and a diff lock axle would put the price up a fair bit and then it would be closer to the price of an actual rough cut mower.

I habe one. When it runs, it works great, but our t22 makes lots of Problems. The Engine starts often not and when it is started the droving doesn‘t work.

Thanks was going to go for the AL-KO Premium T22-105.1 HD-A V2 which is effectively the same machine but with two blades the T22-110 has 3 blades slightly wider cutting deck but is £1000 more in price. I need to cut some high grass. Can I get away with the T22-105.1 as has the same power in the engine and a decent sized cutting deck? Any advice on this would be great thanks

I’ve used the T-16 105 in the past to cut high grass which has a regular deck and rear discharge or for collecting. It can cut really high paddock grass with ease providing you go very slowly and if it is the slightest wet it will get clogged up and stop coming out of the shoot. So you may have to empty the shoot occasionally during heavy and wet cutting. But it is possible to use the non-high grass regular ride on alkos for both lawns and high grass but just be careful. I suppose this high grass version of the alko has the chains and other equipment on the deck and cutters to enable it to churn through the tough stuff?

@@ReolinkKu My respectable local garden machinery shop sold me the T-16 105 after seeing my property and he even allowed me to test it. For me it cuts high grass easily. You just have to go very slowly (as with any ride-on mower) if you want the belts to last. I’ve used it over very weedy terrain and while it doesn’t always cut the thicker stalks completely it’s still pretty good. Just be careful and you should be fine. The only thing is that if it is damp the high grass can get clogged up fairly quickly if it hasn’t been cut in a year. But this is an easy fix. As soon as you notice the grass is not being shot out of the back just remove the shoot and pull the grass out with your hand or use a stick perhaps. I would advice you test the lawnmower first on your land but if that’s not possible you should be alright with the T16 as long as you are not using to cut high grass all the time

The biggest downside to these types of machines is the temptation to go too fast! I used to use Countax and Kubota, and even though one of the Countax was 4 wheel drive, I would choose the Kubota every time. Just a better machine in every way!

Haha, yeah I see your point. I am a farmers son, if it was a full field I would of cut 6 rows around the outside, then found the longest point from end to end and the worked out from there while using my headland for turning 😂👍🏼
