Right now, Brutus Beefcake is getting an angry phone call from Hulk Hogan because he forgot to mention that this was also the reason why he wasn't able join Metallica and why he was passed over in favor of George Foreman for the line of grills.

His best run in my opinion was as part of the dream team with Greg “the Hammer” Valentine! They were a really solid tag team for a long stretch of time! It just wasn’t the same for him as a singles guy like I said imo! But that tag team was rarely beaten from what my memory recalls

He was on fire when he was a single as Brutus the Barber Beefcake. Mary Tyler Moores's favorite wrestler and he was cutting and strutting. Had Brutus not had his accident he would have been the intercontinental champ and could also have been the World champ. Hogan would have put him over right in the middle of the ring. Ed Leslie was a great worker.

I met Brutus Beefcake at Emerald City Comics in February this year, coolest guy that you can ever meet, he isnt friends with Hulk anymore but respects him on a business level, he doesn't like Ric Flair because he said a lot of untrue things about Brutus which i didn't get into, he loved Andre the Giant and Randy Savage and respected them a lot, didnt like The Warrior because he was rude and didn't care about anyone else in the locker room, didn't like David Sammartino because he couldn't wrestle and was a quitter, loved Bruno and enjoyed working with him, really enjoyed working with Mr Perfect and wrestling him, loved working with Greg Valentine and Johnny Valiant, said that he cut Adrian Adonis hair because he accidentally got his hair trimmed by Adonis in a six nan tag team match and wanted to turn Babyface and Vince picked him to do job, loved Roddy Piper, loved almost everyone that he wrestled and worked with, including Earthquake in WCW in the dungeon of doom, he's basically a really cool chill guy and he has bad knees and back pain that makes it hard for him to work out and walk, he was having trouble walking when he left that meet and greet but hes strong as hell and shaking his hand is like a vice grip, he's the coolest wrestler i have met and I loved talking to him about wrestling, God bless you brother Bruti.

Brutus Beefcake had a decent run from 1988 to 1990. I think it's unfair to judge him for the lousy gimmicks that he was given when he left the WWE for WCW in 1993. WCW had a lot of lame years. The management there didn't know how to promote their wrestlers. Eventually, they were paying guys enormous salaries and then "benching them", because the writers couldn't think up anything good for them. That isn't Ed Leslie's fault.

The jist of what doink said was that when Matt arrived very early at wrestlemania 9 to do his make up that took a while to do, randy went to him and gloated that he did it. Wasn’t too close as friends to randy but suprised he would tell him. Nobody else knew of wrestlers because then randy kept it to himself, instead of telling the guys and/or the office. According to Matt, randy was upset because even though he divorced Liz the fall of the year prior, he vowed he would get hogan. Didn’t hear the whole interview myself but the preview clip was posted online years ago.

Randy Savage gave him the big right hand, then climbed up on a table and landed on Hogan with the big elbow. Loud Oooo Yeahs were heard throughout the backstage area. Brutus Beefcake found Hogan unconscious on the ground under a pile of Slim Jims.

This story sounds believable coming from Brutus. But here’s the thing, two things can be true at the same time, just as he alluded to. Yeah, the black eye very well could be from a wave runner accident, but Randy could have cold cocked hogan one as well. I mean just because it didn’t give him the black eye, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I know Brutus is a long time close friend of Terry’s but, there is nothing to gain or lose in anyone’s legacy at this point over that so I’d bet the truth is right there in the middle; both things happened.

Sadly, for Randy Savage, soon after Wrestlemania 9, Vince McMahon imposed the "Youth Movement" in the WWE, where he decided to only give big pushes to wrestlers who were under 40. Savage resented Vince for that, and that's why he left the WWE in 1994.
