While her death makes me sad every time, I love seeing how she died a true warrior. She was taking out Romans at the combat and strategy level of the Warrior Princess herself. You really see how much she learned from Xena.

The way Brutus looked into Ephiny's eyes as he struck her down... I think he could tell he had just made a huge mistake

It wasnt that. I believe he was just a bit shocked at the look she was giving him, because even in her death, her eyes were hard and defying, and it likely unnerved him a bit, seeing her as likely a very brave warrior. She died, but she didnt stream and react in fear. She withstood the pain, and stared him down.

Oh ephiny, such a beautiful bond between her and gabby, they began from a kinda rivalry relationship and now gabby burned her friend, ephiny was probably if not the only then one of the two ppl gabby cared about besides xena, I liked their friendship even when ephiny was in labor in seas1 finale she was worried about gabby I liked also her appearances on hercules too such a rushed ending for a wonderful character

In the last two seasons, the show killed off the best parts of the fantasy setting: The Olympians, the Amazons and the Centaurs. I was angry that the show killed off so many cool characters like Athena, Artemis and Ephinany. They were part of what made Xena unique in the first place. It was like the writers went scorched earth destroying everything they created--even Xena in the end.

You have to think that was the point. Xena was supposed to be “real” (in their world to ours), so of course all the mythological stuff would get wiped away such as the Amazon Nations, The Olympians, The Centaurs, etc. None of those things exist (anymore?) which is why they’re now myths and legends.

@Io inthenightsky I couldn't agree more. The gods were my favorite part of both shows. Frankly, the writers chickened out at the end because they still allowed Ares and Aphrodite to live. All they did was kill off a group of characters we never saw but who added an ambiance to the setting. For years, they teased us that the gods could appear at any time. Then when we finally see them, the writers wiped them out fast.

Ugh I hate myself for saying it but it had to be. Xena kinda was in sync sort of with history, so as Amazons disappeared(so says legend),mRome became THE power in the known world...and all Greek mythos was written over by Romans. It sux but that’s how history was. Killing the Amazons was devastating to me bc they were the only real, legit warrior role models for females ever seen on tv...their legend appeared long before Christianity and male-world-dominance.

Caesar's troops weren't there to steal Amazon land or start war, they were looking for Pompey. The Amazons attacked them thinking they were trying to conquer. Brutus defeated Ephiny in a fair fight, he even later said she was the best opponent he faced.

Pompey was taking them as slaves. The Amazon's thought that Brutus troops were there to take more of them and attacked. Brutus was there to look for Pompet

@@johnswan6895 Yup. The Amazons assumed that, because they're Roman, that they were there to take Amazons as slaves. They didn't know that Pompey and Ceasar were in the middle of a feud. Pompey was selling them to pirates as slaves because he needed money for weapons, armor, etc.

Danielle Cormack plays brilliant into every roll or character, I was used to seeing her as “Ephiny” growing up , now its so hard seeing her that way since i got used to seeing her as “Bea Smith” in the Wentworth Women’s Prison series

I tried to so hard to get one as a kid when i was obsessed with this, and i almost succeeded too, it was worse than trying to find a needle in a hay stack almost impossible , then i met one of the prop masters for the the Hercules and Xena merchandise magazine before he signed a contract with universal he was already making the most authentic xena props in the world he had his own company , then i had the crazy idea to ask if he could make me one if i sent him the best pictures i could of one and how close he can come to it , we discussed it and he said piece of cake , he can get it to look feel identical, judging by his other xena costumes and weapons , there was no question about his work spoke for itself , but it never happened because i was a kid and all though i did find a way to get other props of hers , pricy as they were i never met the price for this piece unfortunately

Brutus was one of the best characters. The fact that he was so honourable and loyal, up until he assassinated Caesar. Then he just slid down into becoming a monster just like the one he’d killed.

Let's be honest here, Xena had a big list of horrible actors and even Karl Urban overacted as Caesar. What made Brutus stand out was that the actor was really good. I love the way he was able to convey so much emotion with his eyes. Especially at the Caesar killing scene.
