It was funny because the crowd was full of families because the festival is a family thing and there is Hugh Dillon singer for The Headstones throwing f bombs all over the place and spitting in to the crowd. Remember my daughter asking daddy did he just spit on the people. I said yep and she asked why. I had no answer so i said well thats rock and roll baby. The look was hilarious but she got the rock bug so all was good. Her fave is Our Lady Peace so not all bad. Canadian music is great. Really? I always thought he was massively overrated. As a musician I've had to play this song too many times and, frankly, audiences don't really respond to it the way guitar players expect them to. I've fortunately been able to avoid playing any of his other songs. This one has cheesy nostalgia going for it, though. You gotta give it that.

@@Richard-Bullock Lol, there was a girl I recalled from the old Montgomery Ward catalogs, whom actually ended up being in one of those teenage sex comedy movies, around the time the Mannequin movies came out, and I thought for the longest she might be that same girl. I did find that girl in the catalogs again from a website, and while she is fairly close to Lysette, I'm pretty sure there's enough difference there for it not to be her. I've been looking for ages to find out what movie that girl was in though. I saw that movie she was in when it was released in the eighties, and just completely forgot which movie it was. No title rings a bell, and I keep thinking it was one of the Mannequin movies (but it's not), and she was the main female focus of the movie too. It's too bad I can't at least recall who the main male star was, because he was definitely pretty popular at the time, because then I could narrow down all his movies on IMDB and find her that way. I don't think she was ever in another movie, oddly. BTW, here's the catalog page. It's the fourth picture down, and she's the first and third picture, and maybe the fourth on those pages labelled 106 and 107. I would appreciate if somebody knows the movie she starred in, or her name if failing that: Roller-Disco Jackets & Polyester Slacks: The 1980 Montgomery Ward Catalog - Flashbak Okay, the link don't work, but it can be accessed by copying the entire phrase and putting it into google and clicking on the top result.

He wrote that song in under an hour! Didn't necessarily put a whole lot of thought into it but as Bryan said, it was only meant to be a gushy, romantic ballard without any deep meaning.

So funny. I got my first guitar in 1969, and literally played it every chance I got. Years later moved to the west coast, and Bryan was in a band called "Sweeny Tod", and saw him play a few times. Turns out we know some mutual people. I've played my guitar in a working band for 15 years. Best days of my life. My wife knew Jodi as well. Thanks.

He’s got sooooo many songs, like It’s Only Love, with the amazing Tina Turner, and Please Forgive Me, Everything I Do..I Do It For You (from Robin Hood with Kevin Costner), Rescue Me, Heaven, Cuts Like a Knife, Run To You, Straight From the Heart, etc I can go on with so many more songs. Bryan Adams is LEGENDARY. My mom saw him in the 80s, I wish I saw him, he’s on my bucket list of concerts to go to 🤘🏽💕

The summer of 1969 ended with the greatest outdoor concert in history "Woodstock." With the Hippies and Flower Children talking about making love not war. With a man landing and walking on the moon. And the Viet Nam war still going on during the 1960's. 'The generation lost in space'-Don Maclean. Still has made a huge impact on music and world politics today. I was 15 years old back in 1969. Today I am 67 and still enjoy the music of my time and today. Great reaction to a great classic.

Little fact: back then, Bryan Adams was nicknamed the "Canadian Boss" (in reference to Springsteen). Adams had several major hits through the 80s and 90s hist biggest probably being this and Run to You. If you're going down the rabbit hole of Canadian rockers, you also need to check out Tom Cochrane & Red Rider, Gowan and a few more :)

Bryan Adams was Canada's worst kept secret in the 80s. He was huge. many mega hits, movie soundtracks, worked with some of the music industry's biggest names. I don't think there was a second video to continue this one. Perhaps that was the original plan, but I have never seen one.

Every now and then when you say "I've never heard of this brother"you shock me. Bryan Adams is probably one of if not the single most famous rock and roll singer to come out of Canada ever. He's collaborated with everyone from Tina Turner to sting to Rod Stewart. How he was off your radar all these years is truly mind-boggling to me. So many hits to choose from, but if there's one video I think you'd really get a kick out of its the song " It's Only Love " his duet with Tina Turner.( make sure you do the live version) He is a phenomenal live performer. Saw him twice in 1987. Once at Madison Square Garden and once in Nassau Coliseum both excellent shows. Guarantee as you dive deeper into his catalog you're going to say over and over again, " I know that song I just didn't know it was him! "

Saw him live in Glasgow in '88. He played for 3 hours and blew everyone away. Always remember he started the intro for Summer of 69 and the crowd sang the whole song, every verse and chorus, while he played it instrumentally first before he sang himself. Awesome gig and I have always thought that he seems like a really decent bloke.
