Thanks for your video. I am 91 and have fond memories of watching Badger, The Ricmkans, Benny Crew and others at Bulbarrow Hill and other tracks around Dorset and Somerset. Little did we know at the time that we were part of "The Golden Age " of scrambling....

I've got Brian Goss's autograph in a scrap book from sometime in the late 60's , we used to go for the sidecars mainly. My uncle was also British champion in 1970 but on the sidecars, he's still got his 650 Triumph Wasp and took it out for a blast back in May for his 80th Birthday!! Vic Eastwood was always my favourite solo rider . Nice memories of the names you mentioned especially the Rickman brothers local to us down in Dorset.

I started seeing these Greeves motocrossers in Montana in about 1964. I fell in love. Washed a MOUNTAIN of bakery pans after school and finally came up with a used and much altered 1067 Challenger. 72 tooth rear sprocket, modified expansion chamber to let more gas out and an elk hide leather seat. I still have one, but not that one. They were soooo much fun in the woods.

Apologies with regards saying the bike is a Challenger I never assume to know everything about every bike but more informed Greeves experts have told me this bike of Badger’s is an MDS apparently so thanks for the information.

We had some scrambles races near us in the 60's but no television coverage. The only way we'd learn about world racing would be in the cycle magazines of the time. The first time I saw a Greeves Challenge I wanted one, probably because of the way they looked. I don't recall seeing one in person at the time. Thanks for posting.

watched all the mentioned and Frank Heard #77 at Torrington Devon, Crowbear farm, we had bicycle scrambles in the break, and Mike Lock had a Bsa Bantam with a chair we used to ride in. great days.

I used to ride CCM in the 1970s/80s and knew Badger Goss quite well at the time, I seem to recall he was a Maico agent, but also knew him from the Haynes four stroke meetings, when they were in Dorset. He certainly liked a drop of 'pop'! I remember being at a meeting when he was riding a 650 Triumph twin, that was only firing on one cylinder most of the time - but he was still quick! Vic Eastwood was there riding a Hagon Yamaha, with Bob Wright on a works CCM - they were light years faster than the rest of us

Hi Tom thanks for that little memory and your absolutely right “Badger” was indeed a Maico agent back in the day and one of my friends the great Keith Ree rode for Badger’s team during that time. But badger Goss was just one of the many iconic British riders who were popular in the late 1960’s and early 70’s.

Seems that you are fine tuning your show and yourself. People who are critical should try what you do . I just really appreciate that you do it. Thanks again Chris. Good to see the interest growing. I love the backyard builds though I don`t think that I would want to ride some of them. Very interesting just what people come up with. And then there is the Trico, that I would like to ride. Cool Channel.

Hi Farrell yeah I like to think my channel’s is improving with regards content although as you say no matter what bike I feature there’s always a keyboard expert at the other end waiting to pick holes with a bike having the wrong screw or bolt for that particular year. Again your correct in your assumption my channel does have a certain cost to it to keep it running and as I’m now retired and my small pension isn’t really enough to sustain it although thankfully I do make a small sum from Google when viewers click on the ads. Take for example those Terry Pickering bikes I featured that photoshoot was an 800 mile round trip with fuel and accommodation costs of over £250 and not to mention the days and weeks at the computer. But anyhow enough of my ramblings stay safe my friend and thanks for watching my content.

As a lad growing up in North Dorset in the 60s I regularly spectated at Scrambles all around the area, particularly Bulbarrow. Badger would be harrying the big bikes, notably the Rickmans, Jerry Scott, Dave Curtis to name just a few. It's a shame that a sport that was once hugely popular and featured regularly on TV should have disappeared though the Classic Scramble Clubs do a great job keeping the spirit alive but unfortunately the fearsome tracks like Bulbarrow will never be used again.
