Team speed matters, I don't think you can trot out an offense of so many slow players like Ferguson, Brooks and Zeke as your starters. 4.8 Ferguson, 4.7 Brooks, 4.6 for Zeke at this point. Tolbert is a 4.4 guy. Turpin 4.3, Flournoy, 4.4 that's what you need at that other WR spot even if it's done by committee. Brooks was ranked the 335th prospect in the 2023 draft for a reason, he was just ok in college with 58 catches/ 785 yards/ 2 receiving td's in 3 seasons. Rookie or not Guyton is already better than Edoga, Beebe is going to be better than Biadsz run blocking forsure. Is Beebe better than Hoffman overall we will see during camp. Personally I feel like Hoffman is more of a mauler than Biadsz was. With Beebe we got bigger and stronger up the middle no doubt that can't be argued. The middle of the pocket and run game should be better. If Steele is back on his run blocking which is what he got paid for. Steele was never great at pass pro but if he is atleast more consistent in pass pro our O.L. will be better. When we cut Edoga our O.L. will be better. The effort our O.L. is putting in to get better says alot about our young guys fighting for playing time. With the T.E. room we have our 3rd receiver could be Stephens as well. A package with Ferguson and Stephens would be very hard on any defense. At the end of camp Brooks will make the 53. I'm just saying we have the T.E. room that can be really hard for L.B. and secondaries to cover and tackle. And coach loves to use his T.E. to create mismatches. Armstrong was underrated for his overall game. Fowler was underrated for his overall game. Fowler played the edge against the run better than given credit for and he was explosive off the edge for pressures and sacks. It would've been nice to keep 1 of the 2 There is no doubt if Williams can play clean he should be able to replace Kneeland get reps at L and R so Micah can play more L.B. for Zimmer and crush the A gaps. Mazi and Osi will have to help keep our L.B. clean obviously. Mazi has to be healthy and ready to be that guy in a rotation to set the tone in the middle. Fehoko IMO has the size and motor to play for Zimmer. Was Gholston another guy misused/misplaced by DQ. Or was Gallimore who really never got it going better than Gholston. O.L. T.E. and front 7 win games consistently. Right now if our O.L. pulls together with our best 5 out there Dowdle, Zeke and Luepke will be fine. Hoping in the 25 draft we can B.P.A. our D.L. the way we did O.L. this yr.
