Thats the magic of Bryan Danielson, he makes you believe against all odds he could win but also rip your heart out by losing. And putting over as many wrestlers as possible, the most selfless wrestler ever
@bravecorporatelogo2 ай бұрын
Darby beats Mox for the title in a bloodbath Christian immediately cashes in and leaves that show as Champion gives Darby his first world title victory and lets him avenge both his loss to Mox and Danielson’s murder, while keeping him a forever underdog who won’t ever give in

Even if Bryan himself decided that's how he wanted to go out, on a stretcher, it wasn't fair to his home state crowd that supported him for more than a decade, showing up to see him every time he came to town whether it be with WWE or AEW. Whether it be when he was an active wrestler or a GM of SmackDown. I was in the arena in WA state one SD when Ambrose had an IC title defense against Miz and Bryan as the GM was the special guest ref and he was showing Ambrose how to do the Yes kicks mid match. I was there at Stomping Grounds 2019 when we turned Rowan and Bryan face for one night and booed Heavy Machinery during their tag match because we could never boo Bryan. I was there in the crowd at WrestleDream and the way that show finished sucked all the air out of the room and pissed us off to the point we booed Justin Roberts when he told us to get home safe after Darby Allin was the last wrestler to leave the ring. To have that PPV finish in any other location, fine, but don't do it in front of his home state fans. Anyone who could do the math, knew he was losing the belt in his home state since he said he's done full time when he loses the belt. We just didn't expect him to leave that way. We thought after he lost the belt and Mox left we'd get to Yes Chant with him one last time as a full time wrestler, get one last special moment. But that boneheaded booking decision makes me never want to pay to attend an AEW show ever again. I already don't watch weekly TV nor pay for the PPVs, live shows was the only way AEW was getting my money.
@hadhoda123452 ай бұрын
If this ending doesn't make you at least intrigued to watch Dynamite next Wednesday, then stop blaming the booking. I have a lot of issues with AEW as a wrestling company, this booking is not one of them.
@FernandoMartinez-pv1id2 ай бұрын
Im only upset Bryan wont be there. Its my home town and its been too long since hes been in that arena so its upsetting to know he's gone.

@FernandoMartinez-pv1id oh man, I get you. Hopefully, he will return to that place sometime in the near future as a part-timer.

I think it was a masterpiece of a closer, but my absolute favourite part was just the look of uncertainty and unease on Nigel McGuinness' face as he watched the BCC try to kill Danielson. Even his biggest hater thought it was just too far. This also feels like the end of a very specific era in wrestling. Cena is on his last run. Danielson just retired from full-time wrestling. AJ Styles is heavily speculated to be hanging it up soon. Hiroshi Tanahashi just said January 4th, 2026 at the Tokyo Dome will be his last match. It's crazy that so many icons of the 2000s era of pro wrestling from Cena being the top guy of 2000s WWE, Danielson being the top guy of 2000s ROH, AJ Styles being the top guy of 2000s TNA and Tanahashi being the top guy of 2000s NJPW are all hanging it up now.

Yeah that was something most people didnt notice. The entire story between Bryan and Nigel was Bryan had moved on and no longer care, while Nigel held a grudge and was envious of him. Had it not been for his injury, he could have had everything Bryan did. Maybe this story leads to Bryan coming back for vengence and as hes about to go down, Nigel actually helps him and the two settle things for good. Maybe it leads to a retirement match between the two one day.

he saids multiple times since he made the speech last year that 2024 was his last year as a full-time wrestler and he has had a year of dream matches in that time. a year long run with the title was never on the table especially with his neck surgery coming up soon

Just come back from Tacoma, drove three hours down from Vancouver. Needed to watch the goat one more time. The energy once final countdown started was insane, the whole lower bowl was standing up. I asked the people around me if they think bryan is losing, most of them said yeah. I think the pass out is what did the shock and silence. Ultimately its probably bryan choice to go out this way, make mox this gaint heel. For this young massive babyface darby ends his regin, probably not till all in. The ending shot with darby and orange cassidy might be the next to world champs. AEW ppv mostly always ends on a happy note, so thats also why i actually "enjoyed" the end.

Darby and OC straight up looked like they had goddamn survivor's guilt over failing to save Danielson. I definitely think it's one of them, and it feels way more likely that it's Darby instead of OC.
@FernandoMartinez-pv1id2 ай бұрын
I doubt itll be at All In. It could happen at Worlds End or Double or Nothing. Then Christian Cage cashes in and costs Darby, followed by a new title hunt. Unless Killswitch betrays him which is what I hoped would happen.
@RyanConnell5150Ай бұрын
Bryan is my favorite wrestler, and since I started going to wrestling shows in the Tacoma/Seattle/Everett area in 2017, I never missed a show Bryan was on. Saw him at all his WWE appearances in that time frame and AEW. I'm never paying to see an AEW show again because of that ending. I already don't buy their PPVs, so they're not getting any more of my money. That's NOT the way to end Bryan's full time career in his home state.
@juicepouch12 ай бұрын
I thought it was well done and really made mox look like a monster. I'm not terribly interested in the inevitable ending with Darby, so I hope Christian weasels his way in and gets the title instead. Danielson will be back at some point down the road, I firmly believe
@FernandoMartinez-pv1id2 ай бұрын
Or Darby wins it, Christian cashes in immediately, and sets up a feud. Even though I was hoping Killswitch would betray Christian and steal the cash in.

I think with Danielson this is clearly the ending that he wanted (both in terms of type and the opponent), but I wonder if it was brought forward because he’s in worse condition than expected so they knew the longer run wasn’t possible - that’s why they rushed into the Nigel McGuinness match, replacing the Darby defence, and then went straight to the Mox match.
@RyanConnell5150Ай бұрын
Absolutely didn't need to happen that way in Washington State. We are his biggest fans and he let us down. I don't give a damn what he wants. We paid the money to come see him for over a decade and this is how he treats us?

Bryan needs neck surgery like REALLY bad. if he wouldve went for a full year things couldve gotten bad. I dont mind this at all. lol
@FernandoMartinez-pv1id2 ай бұрын
A legend like Bryan never needed the title. It boosts the value of the title, not his career. In 5 years they'll be saying "Hall of Fame worthy legends have held this championship. Men like Chris Jericho, Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega."

@@FernandoMartinez-pv1id ok but why did you comment this on my comment? lol literally has nothing to do with what I said.

Apparently Danielson isn't even on contract anymore. I can totally see him going to WWE and doing a one off match, back to AEW to do a one off match, in WWE again, shows up in NJPW to fight Zack Sabre Jr, back in AEW, oh hey wait I want to wrestle this guy in WWE. If anybody can get away with having that sort of schedule where he is literally an independent contractor, it's Bryan Danielson. If he's smart, he'd sign a deal where both companies can make toys and stuff and also be in the games of both companies. No exclusivity, just the ultimate free agent.
@FernandoMartinez-pv1id2 ай бұрын
Maybe a Royal Rumble appearence. He'll probably wrestle in CMLL, New Japan, and AEW a few times a year from now on though. He is next in line to take over the company. Tony Khan has said Bryan is his most trusted employee and that if he were to get hit by a bus, his father has been told to make Bryan the president of the company. I cant think of many wrestling companies that would let a guy with no contract win their world championship at their biggest show of the year so there really is a lot of trust there.

He said he's not interested in going back to WWE at this point in time. He's not interested in a HoF induction. He said if a while down the line AEW was trouncing WWE he'd consider going back to help the talent behind the scenes.
