How could I ever forget this beautiful song. I remember, it was in the early eighties when it was edited. I was doing my service at the Army in the G.D.R. behind the wall and we were strictly forbidden listening to Western radio stations. But we broke the rule, naturally. Once a week there was hitparade on Western Berlin's SFB, and when this song started it took my heart as a whole. Such a moving, longing sound, such a wonderful melody and smooth voice. I loved it and was so sad when this song could no longer be elected because of time limit. Still, over 40 years later since then, it sends me shivers down my spine. Only a few tunes in my life did ever make this. Hope also in 40 more years there will be at least a few people loving this song as much as I did and do...

This song is a brilliant illustration of the ability of music to evoke memories, both joyful and sad. A terrific tune in it's own right, but listen to the lyrics and it's heartbreaking.

I love this but I don't agree regarding today's music. Glass Animals, The Weeknd both have great songs too. I just watched Roxy live in DC.

And so this came to be our song, and so on through all summer long. Day and night, drifting into love... this was me and my daughters first song, played during my last month of pregnancy and still playing through our lives. It used to put her to sleep, now those memories bring me to happy tears as 18 years has passed her into a young, beautiful woman ❤️

What a saxy guitar at the end. One of my all time favourite fades. That's like the emotion high point of the song. The song is so true.
