Hello KZbin, people of Earth, and everyone else! Welcome to the channel!
In today's video, I discuss my first impressions and amateur analysis about Bryan Fury after having dedicated a good amount of time to him. I go over some of his basics and what his essential game-plan is against a broad range of opponents.

Clicked because the vid is Bryan related. It's got nice production value! I fell in love with Bryan's character since seeing his arcade movie in Tekken 3

Hey man, thanks for clicking! I only recently got into Tekken (about a year and a half ago) and the challenge Bryan presents works really well with my hands and mind. Still pretty new to ranked, but I’m enjoying him so far!

You can get pretty stylish with bryan combos. I deadass see every high rank bryan players doin their own stuff. Pretty much like they are freestyling. The buff on his heat is definitely good, though still pretty interruptible by the slightest slap on the risk. One of the best heat is a stretch. I would not contest bryans heat with other players heat.

I only say that his heat smash is one of the best since if you use it at the right time you’re pretty much getting damage or guaranteed plus frames at least twice if not a CH launch. I’ve had it where I’ve had it interrupted too, but on hit or block it’s really sick. But yeah, watching, knee, nemesis, and multi do different combos on the same launchers has definitely been fun to see.

i'm kinda gatekeeped at fujin right now as a bryan main (lost 6 god damn promo match!!! i'm going as insane as the character) but i'd say his mains tools at higher ranks, is, well, getting generally good, lemme explain. first of all, he is super low tier, trash tier you would say, bottom 3 easy, so his moves string are quite bad frame wise and stuff, so you gotta play smart, you gotta cancel strings, you gotta unread enemy guesses, lets say you do df2,1 and nothing after it, first of all, you check if the 1 is ducked, then, you check the reaction, if the dude mash a jab, he wants to interupt your sway back mixups, so, you might want to go df2,1 and instantly sidestep, if opponent jab string there, you want to input either a jet upper, or a f3, then, hatchet / soccer kick mixes, hatchet is one of his very few very good option, making it realy readable, but it still often land cause crouching randomly on a sway back invit a soccer kick, so, when you hit hatchet, you usualy might want to go d2, it will take priority over everything, safe on block, and you can setup a d2 on block into doing d2,4, then only d2, you play on MENTAL frames basicly, thats his probleme in T8, mental frame are mostly worthless because most character are mashing machine in this game, with low risk high reward moves, so you need to get your knowledge up, knowing what BS string the opponent will use, know where you can SS or duck, how to punish, etc etc... but bryan is only capped by the player skill. unlike other character that simply require no skill playing on their flowcharts, hence why i said, as bryan, you need to be better, your flowchart sucks compare to 90% of the game roster, so you ain't gonna get carried, you have some cheesy setup in snake eye, but more often than not, your 3+4 ,2 will either get interupted by mashing, or sidesteped at higher level, since you have no mixup exept mental frame by not inputing the last 2, doing this you get back to your weak neutral so, yeah, overall, low tier character, forces you to get good, you have no BS 50/50, everything is reactable, most thing are 12 frame punishable, so the character is overall bad in the end, wich makes him great and feels good to win with against enemies with way better flowcharts character, cause you just know, you are ten times better than them, and idk, it just feels good.

So, a point I’m trying to get better with as I’m continuing to play Bryan is not worrying as much about my character, and simply playing Tekken. Character knowledge comes with time, so I’m trying to learn BRYAN passively, while actively practicing fundamental stuff. I agree that it’s tough against decent players as Bryan, but his combos are his saving grace, which is that risk-reward ratio. Prediction’s his whole thing, which is something you learn by playing Tekken and not just trying to play S-tier vs F-tier mentally. Bryan I think is stronger than bottom 3 with the right person piloting him, but yeah, he can’t skip neutral like other characters and his tools are unorthodox. Where I’m at (which at my highest is Garyu), it feels tougher to play Tekken against the lower ranks. HOWEVER, the most difficult part of his kit IS his combos because most of them are CH based, which makes Bryan players have to work with his neutral. That’s why the players I have started teaching (low level stuff) is not just to play strings, but playing pokes, then strings, then launchers, and I think that’s especially the game with Bryan as most of his launchers only launch with good timing. Us Bryan players struggle, but his tools are essentially strong enough to contend with others characters. Just locked behind execution like no other. Time to study some Knee!
