Gotta be the greatest moment in UK Saturday morning tele of all time! I loved SMTV Live as a little kid and always got excited for the Pokemon duals every week, the whole show was fantastic entertainment for all ages as well. Ant + Dec definitely made it along with Cat, no wonder it didn't last longer after they left! Man the late 90s + early 00s were a fab time to be a single digit aged Brit, last great era too.

I remember those day when the UK first got pokemon,watching it on ITV children show.They still have pokemon to this day,on CITV I still remember when ant and dec dressed up as misty and Gary I think cat dressed up as ash. I was about 10 when watching this show, waking up early so not to miss any episodes.Now I just recored off my sky box.Ant and dec were the dick and dom of the 90s.

TheUrbanJedi The was thing is is you'd never be able to say that on Kids TV now. SMTV was smart enough to make jokes that would go over young kids heads, but make parent's eyebrows rise. Never over the top, never crude, but very very funny

It’s a Saturday morning live show that ran from 1998 till 28th December 2003 and the 2 boys in the video are Ant and Dec, these 2 boys are famous over here when this show first aired Live and Kicking (BBC) was watched more than SMTV until one day in 1999 when the show started to gain traction from viewers who had enough of L&K and wanted to watch something else and that’s how SMTV got so popular they even won some awards and celebrities started to get on the show it was that popular there’s even a documentary about how the show came to be it’s on KZbin but ant and dec had to leave the show because of the British version of American idol (Pop Idol) and then the rest is history not to mention they even parodied Friends every week

Ant and Dec honestly had no clue about Pokémon; they even confessed during the SM:TV special that it was like a foreign language to them. Despite practicing repeatedly in front of the crew, their initial attempt at the sketch left the crew baffled. However, it was a hit, mirroring what children were doing in playgrounds at the time. The 'Go Bryan' segment was designed for Bryan and the rest of Westlife to stand behind Ant and Dec during the sketch and sing a portion of their third single, 'Flying Without Wings,' which was notable for being their third consecutive number one hit from three releases. Bryan McFadden admitted that he had never laughed so hard in his life, claiming that Dec's extreme reaction caused him to laugh until he wet himself.

They practiced and practiced the first time they did this sketch the crew had no idea but it went down a storm because that was what kids at the time were doing in the playground. The idea here was that Bryan and the rest of Westlife were line up behind Ant and Dec during the sketch and sing a bit of Flying Without Wings which was big at the time it was their 3rd of 7 straight number 1 singles for them. By his own admission Bryan McFadden had never laughed so hard in his life by his own admission Dec's wild reaction made him laugh so hard he pissed himself.
