My dad " step dad was killed in a car accident in March " I wouldn't be the woman I am today with out him telling me exactly what you are singing. My husband and I took a chance, left Alabama and moved to Alaska with some cash and 3 kids, 4 years later we have 5 kids total and we are both successful . They followed us shortly after. Tragically he was killed in an accident headed out to go ice fishing when I was 7 months pregnant with my now 6 week old that is named after him. He was an amazing man, but I can see him telling my 3 boys this same message but coming from Papa.

I lost my mother at 18, my stepfather a month later, my father's in a nursing home, and I've had a past made out of nightmares. Yet here I am still standing, still fighting. You may be going through hell now, but keep your head up. Heaven's right on the other side.

The deepest thing i learned from my father and mother and my grandparents is that there are the Laws of man and there are the Laws of Creation. There are times you follow one then there are times you follow the other. I've been around a place or two and seen a thing or two and have seen and lived both. It all burns into your soul and i am at absolute peace with what is burned into my soul. I can stand before all my kin in the next and in front of Creation with humble pride and without an echo of tremble. Mistakes were made, in the largeness of things and with perspective those mistakes are small and bear little weight, the real weight comes in knowing you knew when to follow the Laws of Man and when to follow the Laws of Creation and did so without a hesitant heart. Peace- mjb

🫡🫡🇺🇸🇺🇸 I’m an Iraq/ Afghanistan combat veteran 31B with 7 deployments and I thank your father from the bottom of my heart and I’m sorry for your loss. Mine and many others owe him the biggest debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. Some of us understand struggles that most will never be able to comprehend. Thank you for sharing his legacy with us. I lost my mother on my first deployment, my father passed away on my 4th deployment and 3 weeks after I got back stateside my sister and nephew were killed in a car accident. I’ve spent many nights thinking how I wish I would’ve been here with them instead of being in a desert in no man’s land but I always hear my dads voice saying “no sir you signed up for it and you’re gonna finish it and I’ll whip your A if you even think of quitting because that’s my last name behind yours as well son”
