Two things, I loved Dan's encyclopedic knowledge that he displayed. That doesn't get discussed enough. Second, the most genuine part of the interview is the last question. The question about his golf game. Bryant lit up and spoke passionately about his game. Cool to see!

My favorite BG moment: 1n 1984 when BYU was named a national champion in college football, this alum watched BG do an entire segmant explaining why BYU was an "imposter". When he completed the segment, BG the great sportscaster then did an entire segment on men's skincare... think about it... (not that I have held a grudge for almost 40 years....)

Quality is gone from cable sports coverage. A glut of sports talk shows and one day they are screaming someone is done and the next day they are saying the same person is a hero. Podcasts and the internet will sink ESPN and Fox Sports because there are too many options and the cable news sports coverage is becoming shallow and all about hot takes and entertainment with little about in-depth coverage.
@nicholashardick5959 Жыл бұрын
Alright il say it Bryant What do human rights have to do with sports? I don’t even think the National Anthem should be sang before sporting events. Because after all the spot light and awareness is brought to a certain issue whatever it is . Sports fans are going to let it slip right out of their mind and watch the game. It’s never seemed like the place or time save for the Olympics .World Cup or WBC.
@SomChivukula Жыл бұрын
I agree with you that the anthem doesn't belong in any sport.

Bryant Gumbel is a little too cocky as it relates to the NRA - I did enjoy him in the past but far too often public entertainers/figures venture into areas they shouldn't and Bryant did just that with his rant on the NRA. Several friends pretty much feel the same way & do not care to follow him that closely in the future.

I love Brant Gumbel, however, if he thinks "human right" aren't political then he's naive. And you can throw the human rights label on nearly anything. Trans guys competing as women is a disgrace and guys like Gumbel will keep pushing it until the vast majority push back
@JK-br1mu Жыл бұрын
6:20......but Gumbel twists "human rights" into whatever his political viewpoint is, so he can interject that into sports where it doesn't belong........something like racial equality nearly all sports fans would agree on, but if Gumbel wants to sing the praises of BLM on his show, that's totally different and it is interjecting politics where it doesn't belong.
@davanmani556 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Yeah. It goes on. Please be honest. Politics and religion goes on. Proselytization is always on.
