No Barry you got it done. They sold you off as the Barry Sanders Show. There was no serious effort for the team to win a ring, if it happens it happens, and if it didn’t it didn’t. As long as your ass was selling tickets that’s all Ford wanted so you did got it done.

About 10 years ago, I spent an afternoon playing golf with Barry. After golfing he asked me to eat lunch with him and his family. He’s the coolest celebrity I’ve ever met. Super humble and just chill guy. No arrogance or ego at all.

That sounds amazing. I absolutely love when famous people, especially greats from a sport, are as nice in person as we wish they were. I hung out with Dave Grohl for a few minutes in a lobby and he was exactly the same: humble, friendly, and just as engaged as I was.

No he wasn't. He couldn't get short yardage, he couldn't pick up blitzes and he was a below average receiver. He is the most exciting RB maybe but greatest🤣

@@drexlspivey3047 dude averaged 99.8 yards per game. 10/10 pro bowls. 5 seasons of 1500 or more yards. Never rushed for less than 1100 yards. the only season he rushed for less than 1,300 yards was when he missed five games with a knee injury. Hes the best RB ever.

@@trumpsflushingdocumentsaga2689 If Jim Brown was playing against them big defensive players in the 90s there’s no way he’s averaging 105yds over his career. Plus if Barry was playing against those clumsy cab drivers in the late 50 to early 60 he would probably average 150yds a game for his career.

@@viperguyz The only reason i wouldnt say Brown was the greatest was because Barry's dad always said he was and even called Barry the 3rd greatest RB ever, not sure who was #2? But i respect Barry too much to say anything bad about his dad but what he said about him at his Hall of Fame induction speech was even offensive to me and i better had just leave it at that. But as far Jim Brown goes he was playing in a time when defenses were generally much slower and less complex than today and players as fast and strong as Brown would simply abuse them. Just imagine what Barry would have done against those teams in the 60's and 70's,...oh wait i forgot that Brown retired in '65 after just about 8 seasons...and i thought he was supposed to be Mr. Reliability or something like that?

I was a videographer in Tulsa back in the 80s. The first OSU game I ever worked and the first time I ever saw Barry play he received a kickoff...and proceed to blow everyone off the field and score. He was amazing.

I love Barry, Not just because I was a Lions fan during his time(still am a Lions fan), but because he doesn't answer a question by avoiding the question, he answers the question. He was asked who is better you or Deion and he answered it. He didn't try to dance around it and give some answer like "I was good at this and he was good at that, so we were about equal." He said 'those are my only two choices' and he picked one. He does that, pretty much, with EVERY question. Love it.

i was 11 in 1989 when barry came up and he was awesome to watch. i like him as a person more than a football player because he is humble and down to earth, i think barry was talking about Tim Harris as the big trash talker for greenbay back in the early 90's

Loved watching him play and especially loved when he would score a TD...just handed the ball to the ref. He expected to score and when he ran, he made the pro's look like amateurs. The most exciting RB to ever play professional football, by far.
