Quick translation those that don’t understand Yoruba He starts off saying talk to your self only and don’t share secrets with other human beings cos humans can be deceptive. “Ba nu so, ma ba eniyan so” translates to - “talk to yourself, don’t talk to anybody else” In verse 2 he says “your tears will dry, and your sadness will become laughter. We only know those we love, we don’t know those who truly loves us, so keep your secrets to yourself and don’t share with people” In verse 3 he says “If you’ll eat with the devil, your spoon must be long, Who doesn’t know how to behave will be disgraced cos society is very political”

This music is spiritually deep as it is characteristic of the Yoruba teaching and admonitions. He says he has a message he could not keep to himself. His message is the need to keep your thoughts to yourselves and not to disclose it to others. He reminds his listeners that to dine with the devil you will need a long spoon. He assured that you will succeed no matter the odds in doing this. Brymo could be highly philosophical in his lyrics. And the songs are delivered with passion and haunting music that lingers on long after. He is an asset in the Nigerian music community and would need to be studied and promoted to advance his brand of music.

Brymo has curated a lane for himself. He's been in this pocket for years, and it's working for him. He hasn't given up his artform or style to adjust to industry expectations. He stays in this niche, and that's what makes him stand out when everyone else is following the "hit song" model. There's nothing wrong with that either. I just admire the fact that he knows himself, knows what works for him, and sticks to that.
