I just picked up the 24 channel version of this board (cheap, too) intending to make in the center of my home studio along with an 8 channel audio interface and Reaper DAW. I know that it's meant as a live sound mixer but I'm hoping it'll work well for recording. My tentative channel plan for the board is: 1-8=mics, 9-16=direct outs from interface (aka "tape"returns), 17-24=line inputs. Probably will use insert sends as direct outs if needed.

moogyboy6 I’m planning to do the same thing. How did it work out for you?
@moogyboy65 жыл бұрын
@@loganf8946 Surprisingly well, actually, aside from a couple of dodgy jacks. There is a considerable amount of crosstalk with the faders all down (bad for mixdown!) but certain combinations of buttons pressed down takes it away. Weird, but it works.

I'm about to score one for $150 and seems like a steal when most sales are $500ish. I don't think it has Send & Receive but... I am a sucker for a good deal.

I'm watching this video for the third time... Awesome review! In your opinion: would this console be a worthy step up from a Behringer xenyx, or more of a sideways change? I've pretty much overgrown mine, lately i feel It sounds kinda bland/eqs are ok for cutting but boosts sound either mushy or nasty harsh... Cheers from Brazil!

I think that the Mackie ( particularly this model) would only be a minor step up from the Behringer. The Mackie is built much better and has more features, but the sound qaulity is stll on the harsh side due to the preamps and eq section. If you are on a budget, I would say yes, but if you can afford it, I would go with something from Soundcraft

Ive been working with allen and heath. But mackies, especially vlz pros. Theyre very sturdy and resistant, great sounding mixer..... if you know how to work it.

How is Allen and Heath? I have seen their boards, but have never actually worked with them.

Brysonbookertelevion For your church, they are perfect!!! Allen and heath is top quality and they have very nice pre amps. The allen and heath is unbeatable. The GL2400 mixer suits great for a church. If you get it you will never want the mackie, believe me.
