In addition to what you said, Remember in Pakistan you must also keep in mind the eligibility criteria of jobs (Especially Govt.), Most jobs require explicitly (CS & IT) degrees, the others similar are not considered equivalent, They will NOT compromise on degree name, I've suffered alot due to this. So My final recommendation for everyone is to pursue BS COMPUTER SCIENCE degree, not even IT to avoid any difficulties in recruitment. All the rest of the fields can be learned through additional online courses such as, Cloud computing, AI/Machine learning, Cloud Computing, Software Engg, DEVOPS, Web&Mobile development etc VIA Coursera and linkedin Learning or other credible learning platforms with widely recognized global certifications.

Aoa Moiz bhai. I have been watching your videos since I started getting interest in NUST. To be honest they helped me a lot in bringing some important decisions regarding my future studies. Moving straight to the point, I have got 150 marks in NET-3 and my overall aggregate is 77.699% . Would I be able to get admission in BS CS in SEECS. According to the previous year merit of SEECS the closing aggregate of BS CS was 77.3... and of BS SE 77.5... In both these departments I am able to get admission in SEECS but according to the previous year. This year the merit would likely to be increase but there is a new field added BS AI. Would BS AI affect the merit of BS CS and make it down this time or not?? Plz guide me. Hoping for a positive response Regards

CS merit would increase rather than decrease, you can select AI as its not much different but university name matters a lot in finding a job

Fast,Nust and comsats. Ye top 3 universities hn pakistan ki regarding computer related degrees. FAST: Is mein difficulty level boht zyada h. Average gpa fast mein 2.6 - 2.8 hota h. Is university mein bchon pr pressure boht dala jata h assignments,quizzes,presentations ye boht difficult hote hn as compared to other universities. But ye university practical life k lye students ko tyaar krti h jese pressure handle kese krna h. It's simple as this, CS AI is supposed to be a master's field and CS General is the best option. Globally everywhere it is considered as a speciality and not a ungrad degree. Companies who ”care" about degree are gonna have a different view if you have bachelors CS or CS AI in the filtering. I think the biggest problem is the core concept will be week, your basics won't be the same level, I have cousin who is in final semester BS AI and he is regretting it realizing the stark difference between the two

I would politely disagree with opinion, I, myself am student of BS AI and These kind of degree's are for people who already know what they want to do with their life rather than choosing CS and studying courses like Applied Physics, Compiler Construction and etc which hardly relate to AI field, so rather than saying BS AI or any specialization at BS level will leave the core concepts weak, we should perceive it as BS AI is for people who already know and have passion for AI and BS CS is for people who are yet to decide what they want to do specifically. The regretting problem is very common among Pakistanis, some might even regret choosing CS or any other field cause our education system is very strict which makes us indecisive hence incase of consideration by companies or core concepts neither AI or CS is bad at BS level it just depends on the person how well planned and well researched he is. I know you didn't ask for it but your opinion rendered BS AI as a bad regretful choice for someone thinking to pursue, I hope my perception might help someone else to choose accordingly.

The core concepts are same. I was also vague about this but then i read about the courses, core courses are same. So you cant regret about core courses. Choosing AI is for who have clear path that they want to do AI and continue, but for the one who domt have clear path and will jump into BSAi, will definitely regret it if he doesn't find AI interesting because you would not have choice other then self learn some skills of sofyware developers
