I bought a $45 hand-pump from Wahlmart online for my PCP pistol. It’s some work, but at least it was cheap. My pistol was cheep too, so less worried about this. For my first investment into PCP, it was a good choice. And it has worked flawlessly for a year now. It also has spare parts and seals. Oh, and it pumps to 300bar. It is Chinese, though. But I just can’t see spending big bucks on a British one. Maybe if America made one for like $100, I’m sure I would buy that.

I'm about 230lbs i had a hand pump the Benjamin for my Marauder. I have lower back issues so using a pump is no longer an option. I just ordered the Yong Heng PCP compressor then eventually will get a small carbon fiber tank to do top offs.

Unfortunately your path is the one most travelled. The issue with the Yong Heng style compressors (I've tested several) is that virtually none of them deal with moisture properly. Once you get all the other gear, i.e. condensing tower, secondary filter, etc., you'll be into it for another $200 to $300. At that point there's probably a better option cost wise. Also, those tend to break down under heavy use, especially when the cooling systems people try to rig up are not adequate. Again, it's a very typical path because the cost is so attractive. But you may find that by the time you've been through the entire learning curve, you will have spent at least as much and probably more than you would have purchasing something like the Trail Charger. @@AirGunWeb good points that I will definitely consider in the future also I will be getting a moisture filter as well. I dont do alot of shooting probably a few times a week if I'm lucky so the yong heng wouldn't be under as much load.

How has the Nomad 2 been holding up? Any concerns for that pump?

I've been using the same Nomad II for a while now. It has been holding up very well. The key is to use plenty of silicone oil, and don't try and push it beyond it's design. For example, filling guns is just fine. Filling pony bottles is not. Cheers AGW
