I can say first hand this is more than a garden plinker. This is a serious hunter :)

Thank you for taking the time to do these reviews. Breaking it down into segments with multiple episodes on in depth reviews makes for easy viewing on my phone or tablet. Much appreciated. This also settled my decision on choosing my first air gun.

Great video, well done! I have a .177 BSA Ultra SE with a weihrauch silencer which makes it ridiculously quiet. The rifle really likes the RWS superdome 8.3g pellets giving consistent groups. I use it in my garden for plinking @25 metres and taking out the odd rat with ease that may have ventured in.

I have thought about buying one of these. Its a great alternative to the bull pup. I see videos of people in the UK taking rabbits at 80 plus yards with sub 12ft pound guns. 😎😎😎

My longest shot with my 11ft .177 was a 76 yard woodpigeon. Yeah lower power can work a treat as long as you have a range finder, mildot scope and a load of practice.

You could always bullpup one of these, I would.

From my research, us Brits fill these to 190/200 and shoot down to 100 bar. If you fill to maximum the shots are wild. It's a nice little hunting rifle, I hope to buy one at the end of August. BSA also make Gamo's PCP's.

Many good points here Rick: Excellent valve system, very accurate barrels, tested and proved hunting platform up to 50 yrds, easy maintainance and hammer adjustment, excellent stock. The small tube makes it easy to fill it up even with a pump. I am a fun of British guns, they are well thought, and this is one of the classics, but that's all. I'll consider this gun only as a starter's gun, you cannot do much more to enhance it further, it doesn't worth it, it doesn't need it. Your shooting testing didn't pay it a compliment (due to wind) but I've shot this and it is surely a very accurate gun. Would I buy a new one? Don't really know, today you have so many options to choose from, maybe if the price is right, maybe a second hand one - for sure any airgun enthusiast needs to have a BSA in his/her collection. Nice video.

I own a BSA Ultra in .177. It is extremely accurate, and I've fitted a HUMA reg to it, which is very easy to install. Simple screw in job, with some tuning time involved afterwards, although I was lucky to get the version where you can adjust the hammer spring which helps (not sure if this is possible with SE, which I thought was already regulated?}. The trigger can be set to be phenomenally good. Have shot doves and guinea fowl with it in my back garden in SA. Mine loves the 10.34gr JSB heavy exacts, but is not fussy even with H&N pellets. It's not just a fun play around rifle, but can also do some very effective hunting due to its accuracy. I've had mine for around 4 years and will never sell it.

hennie putter Can't say that I was impressed just from what I saw here, but that was quite an endorsement.

@@bluewater454 Hi Bluewater454, I fully agree with not being very impressed with the groupings. Not sure if it was due to the strong winds. If you want to see what the gun is capable off in no wind conditions, search for "BSA Ultra fans" on youtube, Si Pittaway demonstrates the guns potential for accuracy. It's also a .177 caliber, so cannot comment on the .22 version. Hope this helps!

This is a beautiful gun. 12 foot pounds is the maximum for a Pellet gun in the UK! My other half has this in a rare Laminate stock. She can hit almost anything with it at 55 yards! 😎

Hi mate Looking at 3:00 the clamping blocks look very canted, have you tried turning the clamping blocks round to clamp better? The BSA 13mm dovetail rail is a bit bigger then the standard 11mm rail other manufacturers use, which can cause issue with some mounts.

Very cool airgun at a very affordable price. How do you compare the BSA Ultra SE to the Umarex Gauntlet and Hatsan AT-44 ? Thanks Rick, Mike PS - How do you compare this to the BSA Buccaneer ?

Hi nice video.. but i have a feeling .... bsa is one of the best .. i have two of these bas ultra and one bsa r10 .. and bsa break barrel in my collection ... but i bought the first one in 2007 then a few years later i bought the other ones... i mean these are old guns for us .. no one buys them anymore ... although they are fantastic .... because almost everyone has one .... and so weird that you just spoke about them ... almost in 2013 other brand came up with more features and they were easier to repair with no custom made o rings ... like Calibergun Cricket .. Edgun Matador Typan .. Ataman or vulcan .... i these guns a at the peak .. they are extremely accurate with high shot count and beautiful trigger .... i never hear about these guns in USA although you have a big market that can absorb everything ...

I just discovered your channel, liked and sub'd! My gardens are critical to making it through this lockdown. I have a groundhog problem. That's literally all I would use an airgun for, pest elimination. My 3 criteria for an airgun are: 1. Low noise. 2. Cost. 3. Single head-shot kill of groundhog @25 yards max. Is this my best choice? Thank You!

12ft lbs works just fine for hunting out to 50 yards on small game. If they are running off after being hit , its not through lack of power but poor shot placement.
