Thanks David. Yes I did check for 0.008 between the rotor and stator coils. It isn't an even gap. Even tapping with a mallet to move the stator with the fixing nuts slackened. But I do have a minimum of 0.008 all round checked with a feeler gauge. Hope yours goes really well.

A nice set of videos, thanks for uploading. Looking forward to hearing it start. I am at about the same stage myself on a 62 Did you check clearance was 8 thou all the way round between stator and rotor?
