Well, it absolutely would work, it just depends on how far you want to go to make it work

Ugh, well, i would be very cautious as well. I have used silicone in the past on heritage pieces rather than epoxy because it absolutely will not harm the bluing, where epoxy can in some cases. I have used Permatex Black with excellent hold and would do so again
