For a minimum wage and to live a lone today, it can be very tough unless he / she can share rent with other roommates. When I came here back in 1981, I had to share my small studio apartment with other two roommates. I worked during weekends as a dish washer for about $4 for an hour. I got student loans and some scholarships for college during weekdays. I lived close to a bus line so I took a bus to every where for a while. I always bought everything from Goodwill Stores, Dollar Stores, or GS-Stores - Garage Sales around the neighborhoods. No matter where we live, if we work hard, save smart, you can live a comfortable life. AT least here, there are social security benefits and medicare when we're qualified. Cheers! .

I hope you don't rely on SS benefits for retirement. The way our government are spending, there won't be any money there by year 2025. I live in NY, it has a much higher costs of living. In 1981, I was already making $7.50/hr working in a bank. 1981 House price was about $50K. Then in 1985, house was $150K, then in 1987, it went up to $250K Same House, yet my wages remain the same. I had to work night shift full time + full time college, probably get about 4 hours of sleep for 4 years till I finish college in the 1994. I don't know if our newer generation can endure what we went through! I figure it would be harder for them since wages hasn't really gone up that much for the last 30 years!

អរគុណសម្រាប់ការចែករំលែក ប្រាក់ចំណូលការងារ សម្រាប់ការរស់នៅ និងការចំណាយ Most of us work very hard to save some money to support relative in Cambodia, some time we understand that money that we sent out to many places wasn't enough but if they put themself in our shoes they'll feel how does it work? Like me every year I send out for charity or relative or some friends, Some time I feel bad about the amount of money never make people happy but anyway we're living in place that have more opportunity so complaining doesn't count. Thanks for good education video.

Wow. Samn, you got over 100K views and 400 comments as this was a hot topic. Also, I like to share another advice. There are many options in life when we're retired. We can retire in SE Asia with a very comfortable life there like Cambodia with our social security benefits. My top three countries for us to retire would be Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. We still have some relatives there as we got separated after the war. There is always an option in life. A peace to everyone in the Kingdom!
Thanks for your advice bong. For me per day 8$. 😁😁😁😁😁

I don’t know how true it is. But from my experience from what I know it is depended on the company u work. One feiend from India works at intel with his Indian degree, one other friend work as a GM, he told me he has a management degree from Cambodia. That is what they told me, I don’t know it is true or not.

No the job pay rate depends on your experience and your level of education and also depends on states some state they pay minimum wage . I live in Boston they pay a lot even Mac Donald $18 per hour
@rontan89543 жыл бұрын
Everything is expensive! In Boston, where average home price is at least $600K, you need to make $75K/year just to make it paycheck to paycheck, they equate to about $45/hr to make $75K per year. In NY, you need to make $100K per year just to survive. Just ordering McDonald meal is already $12 incl drinks.
