You can do both. At this moment software companies are asking for college degree. But there are a lot of software engineers coming out of online courses. If you have a lot of passion for software development then where you take your degree or certification will not matter much. But you should know programming for companies to look at you.

All the best. You got this. Yes - the only person you should listen to you is yourself. And you should always be positive about your own self. Degrees, Marks, Colleges don't matter much after the first few jobs. You will see that so many successful people sometimes don't even have a degree to start with. But they achieve success because they ignored all the naysayers. So ignore the naysayers. Believe that whatever you have done is the best you could have done. Then start from there. In a race remember it is always the tortoise that wins. Not because rabbit went to sleep but the tortoise was focused on a single goal. That is the reason. You focus on a single goal and you will achieve no matter what.

If you are a good programmer and you believe that you will not need to do MCA then you can directly start applying for job. You may have to start with companies who hire based on BCA or BSc degrees. So when searching for a job look for Qualification as BCA or BSc. That should work. Also try to find a job through your references that will be much faster in this case. Only 1/5 th of jobs are shown on any job portals. There is a huge demand of software engineers which gets filled just through references.

That depends on what you like. If you are thinking of going into Data Science in the future then pick Maths. But if you are passionate about electronics then pick electronics. Whatever you do - do what you like so that you never regret it. Because nobody can predict the future. So if you do something today thinking about the future you may not get what you want in the future because the future may change. So best is do what you like today and be happy. Become learned enough that you can use what you like.

With BCA and MBA experience you will need to learn .NET or Java or PHP like programming languages to get into Software Industry. Because your knowledge will be useful to build business applications. Most of the business application now a days are also web application. So C is not a good choice for such applications. C is mostly used in Embedded Technology and writing Operating System Level stuff. So you will need to learn a programming language that will be useful in building some kind of Business Application. Most business applications today are also Web Applications. So if you do some course on learning Web Development that will work. There are two things knowledge and learning. Knowledge means you know something important. But learning means you can use what you know. A person can do masters and gather all the knowledge from the best sources. But if he does not learn how to use what he knows really well then all the knowledge is of no use. So tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 colleges dont matter. Your degree does not matter. Yes if you are very smart. You can really crack all exams. Why not go and get the best education from the best colleges. But unless you learn how to use that education it will not help you. After that in the interview process everyone who appear for the interview will be same. Also it will depend on the interviewer. If the interviewer is a BE he may give more preference to BE but if he is BSc then they may lean towards BSc. But there is no way to find this out. I feel you prepare your best and go. Because there is no obstacle for those who really are able to answer all questions.

Hi Uday, Getting a job in any company depends on your skill level. When you want to work in the best companies then you have to have the highest skills possible. Because you are competing with thousands of engineers who are looking for the same position. You can certainly learn coding and you can certainly get a job in Amazon. But it all depends on how sincere you are and how good you are in learning these things. Also if you want to get into software development then dont restrict yourself to Amazon or one company. Be open to work your way from any company and learn and then join another company so that you are able to build your career whether you work for Amazon or not. In case you want to learn Mobile Development then you go for those types of courses. If you want to go for Data Science then the courses are different. When you are studying study. Find what really interests you. You may find some subjects are easy for you. Others may be difficult. After you complete then decide where you want to go. Go one step at a time. Your job depends not on your subjects or college or marks. It depends on what you know well and how you can communicate that with people. Hi Yuvraj, If you are good in programming then you can search for some smaller company where you will get between 4LPA or more. Usually if the MNC you joined is a very big company then they may put you on Support because of BSc CS. MCA is a good idea if you want to study further. But another option is doing some certification for Cloud Skills like Full Stack Development on AWS or Azure. Those skills will easily get you a job beyond 4 LPA. Yes if you get a job in a company you will always get a job as a Software Engineer or a Software Developer. Provided you are good in programming. You should focus on one programming language or stack that you know very well. In this video I have explained what is the meaning of a stack kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5XXinyVYs6Yl7c. But when you come out of college you will not know exactly how much you know. So it is better to find a job in case you are not going to do M.Sc Computers. And side by side start improving your programming knowledge if you want to get into programming. In software industry there are many streams that do not require knowledge of programming. For e.g. Business Analysis, Data Science, Data Base Management, Cloud Infrastructure Management, Manual Testing, Quality Assurance, UX Design, Technical Writing etc. So building a software application does not mean that you just need to know programming. You first decide what do you like. Do you really like programming? Because I have seen people who take up programming because of hype suffer more than people who chose what they like to do within a software industry. I also forgot Customer Support, by the way I started as Customer Support engineer.

Hi Keerthana, The first thing you need to do is complete your degree with good marks. That will give you an edge. After that to get into the best services company then you need to prepare for Aptitude test this you can do in your final year. Also you need to learn the basics of programming and data structures and algorithm. You should have the ability to write simple programs in any one programming language like Java or Python or C# etc. Then you will get a good job with good salary. After that you have to work really well. So that you get a good salary. At this moment you enjoy your time in college and just try to complete your college with flying colors. Best wishes.

MCA is only about Software and a three year course. MSc is both Software and Hardware and a two year course. If you want to focus on the field of Computer Application then MCA is good. If you want to focus on IT field in general without worrying about Hardware or Software then MSc IT is good. I would suggest. Check the syllabus of all the years for both courses and make a decision. For a job both are fine and have more opportunities than just BSc. Best wishes.

You can get into software development after BSc Computer Science. If you try very big companies then you will have to do Support and Quality stuff before you can get into software development but with startups and smaller software companies you can start as a software developer. Provided you know at least one programming language that the company you want to work in is using extensively.

Hi Priyansh, Not sure if you still need the answer. But DU is a reputed university so certainly any degree you take from that university will be good. But then you success does not depend on the number of degrees you have or from where you take your degrees - your success depends on what you know (skills) and what you can do with what you know (work). So focus on one thing and move ahead.

There is no maximum age as fresher. But you have to understand that there is more supply than demand. Companies prefer immediate graduates more than people who have done their graduation long back. Because when the engineers are younger they dont have that much of salary expectations. As the age goes up so does the expectations go up. So there is no maximum as such but then companies usually dont look at older people for fresher profiles.

You need knowledge of one programming language like Java or Python or C#. In case you want to become a Web Developer then you need to know JavaScript or PHP or Ruby etc. The thing is that whatever programming language you know - you should be able to build a complete software application using that language. That is more important. You have to check which language you like and then progress in that.

If you dont want to get into programming then you should go into Business Analysis or Quality Assurance or Sales and Marketing etc. You can also go into project management but mostly they prefer PM with technical skills. You can also try your luck in HRD where you can make a good career. Other areas are Documentation, UI & UX, product management etc.

If your skills are good - yes you can get a good job. As far as Salaries is concerned starting salaries of Software Engineers are in the range of 3 LPA to 4 LPA for 95% Engineers. 5% Engineers the likes of IITians or NITians or who have done programming from a very early age. These people can get upwards of 8 LPA as freshers. Dont worry too much about your first salary - Start in a job. After that you can perform well to be able to improve your salary.

Since you are in First Year BSc you focus on your subjects in College. In case you have a course in Syllabus related to Cyber Security then you will be able to learn that first and know what is required in Cyber Security. If there is no course on this subject then find a basic book on Cyber Security like Cyber Securities for Dummies. Then read that book to understand what is Cyber Security. Based on that then you can plan the various certifications or specialisations that are available online in this field. But first understand what it is about. Then move forward. Don't worry much about best job. Only think about the expertise. If you have good expertise then automatically you will be able to find the best jobs.

Your college and marks dont matter. Only 5% people get the advantage of good college or good marks in the IT Industry. What you need is to acquire skills. No matter what college you go to if you learn one good programming language like C# or Java or Python and then master Data Structure and Algorithmn along with Object Oriented Programming and are able to build end to end applications using this one programming language you have learned then you will get good opportunities. Also remember Good opportunities also depends on your communication skills.

The trend I am seeing is that companies are not making a difference between B Sc and M Sc as much. If you see all the Job Description they will mention BSc and MSc for the same job role. So to them it does not matter. What matters is how much you know in terms of programming or doing projects? The questions that a hiring manager will ask himself is whether this candidate can directly start working on project or we will have to give some more training. So if you are a BSc and you make your self capable enough then you can get a job. The same applies to MSc. The point I am trying to make is that your degree is just kind of a ticket. This ticket only opens the door for someone to see your resume. After that it is all about how well you give your interview. I would say if you really prepare for your interview then it will help you a lot. But if you want to gain knowledge. And you think that in the next two years while doing MSc I will work hard and become really good in some of the things that are required at the job then that is fine. Ultimately you have to decide whether BSc or MSc is good for you or not.

Logically you should take MSc after BSc and yes Masters has its own value. When you do masters and do it properly with good marks it can be very useful in long run. If you are doing BSc Computer Science with Maths and Statistics then it is a good idea to pursue MSc Data Science. Because that will put you in the main league.

Today at 3:15 PM I am releasing a video in which I am talking about why your college or degree is not that important. You can go to any college but if you are sincere and you learn the skills during your time in College then you can use those skills. You get a job because of your skills. Not because you went to some fancy college. Yes some colleges like IIT and NIT will certainly have their own value. But it is not necessary that you go there and study. You may go there and then waste your four years. So college is not important what you learn is important. If this college is within your reach meaning it is affordable and that you are able to get admission it is closer to you then you can join that and continue your studies.

Hi Rohit, It depends on the skills you have after doing the course. If you complete your BSc and you have skills of programming or any skills that are useful for a job then you can get a job even with a BSc. In case you do not have skills then yes by doing a course it can help. But the time of the course 3 mths or 6 mths or 2 weeks do not matter. What matters is what skills you gained after completing the course? You can gain skills within 1 week or 1 month or 3 months. But the importance is of the skill and not the number of days it took you to do the course. In fact the less time you take the more important your skills will be.

No. B.E and M Sc are two different fields. That does not mean that if you are an MSc you cannot be a good programmer. If you work on your programming skills for many jobs you will be considered along with BE and you will be selected if you are better than BE Graduates. So it all depends on your skills.
