A great video. I used to race the ex Pete Hodgeson F1 131 car as 161. It was known as the Batmobile. I remember everyone used open 8 pipes. I bought Black jack headers from American auto parts in Bradford & mated them to my home made mega phone style end pipes which were used for power boat racing. The car went like stink & then everyone started using them. I sadly ran low on funds & had to retire never really making much headway. Thanks for sharing the video. Steviegtr

Enjoyed that one, had a Simpson Exhaust on my Superstox when I raced. Bit of a Jeff Simpson fan back in the day with his open face skid lid. Matt is a down to earth guy - great vid

Do wonder how much the F1 exhaust cost as they cant be cheap?

@@superbrit3845 I seem to recall the Superstox manifolds and Pipe were £300 and it was extra for the rear silencer

When I raced anyway….prob more now and the F1 will be close to 3 figures at a guess

@@racing393 Simpson manifolds for road cars are on eBay for a grand a piece so I’d imagine for certain that the F1’s would at least cost £1500 per side?

@@superbrit3845 yeah that’s insane for a “stock car” But look how much a BRISCA F1 Season would set you back

Great interview, loved every minute of it apart from the Tom Harris bit ......lol. As a former welder and fabricator myself these exhaust are works of art.
