I want to explain that Dazi was a product of his environment, and that influenced his choices and decision-making. he was broken by a man and system that opened him to violence to the point that he didn't even think he was human. his actions can not be justified but it is an explanation of why he is the way he is. I am more neutral when it comes to that because one should never judge one person but not the other. Both Dazi and Akutagawa grew up in an environment that forced them to harden their hearts to protect them selfs from pain. in my eyes, dazi is not a monster but a broken person whose perception of the world is warped by others and the environment he grew up in. At the end of the day, he and Akutagawa are both humans.

@@bakudekuqueen said it all, I honestly think that Dazai was as much a victim as Akutagawa, I don't understand anyone who treats Dazai like a monster and Aku like a saint, they were both wrong, but (for me) Akutagawa didn't have a redemption as considerable as Akutagawa. dazai's redemption (sorry for the bad English, I'm Brazilian🇧🇷)
