@@i_is_yuri basically he was kidnapped and taken away from his family at five years of age in order to be a lab rat and he had a clone created of him. he was searching about arahabaki due to not being aware of being his vessel. when he met dazai, he was with the sheep at that time and was considered their king. dazai manipulated the sheep into thinking chuuya was working for the mafia when he was only gaining information about arahabaki from them, making the sheep stab him literally and metaphorically, leaving him behind. that was when he was taken into the mafia to work alongside dazai. when he was 16 he was taken care of by the flags which was a small group under the mafia consisting of a few members. sometime after meeting them, he met verlaine, a french assassin who was a clone made in a lab who considered chuuya his brother due to their similar fate. he wanted to take chuuya under his wing, therefore he considered that the only way to do that was to remove his love for his friends and family by killing off all of them, which caused all of the flags to be killed off by him, leaving behind only adam. although adam was killed off later too by verlaine as well when he sacrificed himself for chuuya, leaving chuuya all by himself once again. verlaine later went into hiding, remaining a port mafia executive in the pm's basement. not to mention, dazai leaving the port mafia at 18 must've made him feel all alone yet again. he doesn't remember his childhood up until he was a teenager and spent a few years of his existence wondering whether he was really a clone or not after he met the actual clone who was killed in his arms, but it is heavily implied at the end of stormbringer that he is not the clone but the real person, due to the scar on his wrist from a pencil/pen. i suggest reading stormbringer, it's all about young chuuya and his backstory. his backstory is personally worse to me than dazai's, but then again, comparing trauma isn't right so i won't say anything. :))

While I do agree with all the people mentioned with the saddest backstories, I think akutagawa should have been included because not only was he abused, he was never saved from the "not really cycle" of abuse and on top of that, due to the environment he lived in when he was in the slums which also ment he was an orphan, he developed lung disease that can't be cured and could drop dead at any moment. He also has to live with the guilt of being the only person to survive an attack along with his sister.

Atsushi gets taken in by Batman, but time passes and he works with Starfire. That’s my random AU, I just felt like making a new story for my boy Atsushi. Sorry if it was so cringe 😭

It was to feel kind of "proud",like a validation that even with all he went through, he is still alive and can be good. I wouldnt say he "whines" about his past but he report things of his past to some presents events (i dont have exemples sry my memory is bad) Also, headcanoning gim as someone self pitying is not totally wrong (for me!) Well prehaps i've took inspirating of this video but it's also my though of it. If i were to give a reason of the non-approval of aku by dazai, it would mostly be because either dazai still doesnt see akutagawa in his full potential or usefullness, either because, luke said in the video, if he gave him approval, he'll aprouve the abuse he've done and it's make him no better then mori or any other abuser
