The interesting thing about John 20:31 is that, although we see the miracles, the resurrection, etc., what we don't see is the most important aspect of Messiahship as mentioned in John 7:42 "That Messiah comes of the seed of David". John has not proved Jesus was the Messiah, the fruit of David's loins (Act 2:30),

HI Richard - Thanks for the thought provoking comment. I reread Jn 7:42 and it seems John purposely left tension hanging in the air between people who believed and rejected Jesus' message. And by John's own admission he left a lot on the editors floor per se. John didn't include any parables, and while the other gospels included 18 miracles, John chose to focus on 7. Which might be the reason why scholars separate John's gospel from the other synoptic gospels. Thanks for the comment and keep your finger in the scriptures. Have a blessed day! Eric

Hi Ayanda - It's been an amazing study this year. Focusing on our Lord for 30 weeks is a great way to spend one's time. I generally run out of time with my lectures, so I can't include everything. But another aspect of the Mercy Seat...is it sits above the law inside the ark. Meaning it covers "the Law". So the mercy covers the law. The word "cover" is associated with atonement. There is a lot a symbolism. I wasn't smart enough to connect all the dots. I was listening years ago to another bible teacher, and it has stuck with me. Have a blessed day! Eric
