Thanks for the helpful tutorial! I have a '93 RAM250 and this helped diagnose that my problem is with the wiper motor. One thing to note is that my connector only gets signals while the truck is running, not acc, so if you're just getting 0s try starting it up fully.

Great video man, thanks for the info!! Just a couple ?’s, do you have the car on run or accessory when you check for voltage? And do you keep the multimeter on the voltage section even when you check the high/low/intermittent setting or do you have to switch it to resistance? Just wondering because I saw a video where they used voltage to check for power on one of the wires and than switched it to OHMs to check for resistance when testing high/low function on multi-function switch

The leads are the same for the 1st gen RAM, same wiring connector and color code. The only difference is the ground is a more reliable 1/2" strap connected to the top mounting bolt. Great technique for the load test as well.

I've got the same truck. My brown, blue, and ground work great with good readings. No voltage on the red or green though? I changed the multifunction switch a while back. Not sure if the Ctm would have something to do with this? or did the new switch go bad already?

Thanks for the video. I have the power to the motor, and ground checked good on multimeter but I did not think to load test. I will run a new ground and hope that fixes it. I did however run test leads from battery to motor when testing motor function and i had tried ground only with 12v supplied from harness and it still did not work even tho the relay is activating.....so I still have slight doubt this will fix my issue.

Hi, great video. I have a 2008 ram 2500. The wiper motor works only at one speed. Even when turning from one position to another it keeps the same speed. It also does not stop at the bottom of the windshield but wherever the swith is turned off. Any suggestions?

i have '98 dodge caravan and the wiper always stays high when the engine is started. the switch has no control. Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Both relays are OK. Thanks.

My ford mondeo 2012 wiper will not stop after switching it on it will stop after 10-15 seconds later after you have switched the switch off and after using it for three times it completely stops working and it parks where ever she wont. I have had 3 garages to see what the problem was they could not find out what I have changed the motor the switch next to the steering wheel I have checked and changed fuses and relays but still the same problem. What is ground ground

My 98 has a problem with the wipers not working, then it blows the fuse. Swapped out the motor and switch assembly on the column but still have the same problem.

Excellent Tips!! Thank You for posting these kinds of things. Totally Rock Solid. Where along the ground pathway was it damaged? Was it easy to trace? Is there an easy way or tool that helps you find those areas? - - Of course the AllData schematic is paramount, but what I was meaning is - are there any tips for us to help locate those bad or hidden damage spots? I had heard of wiring tool that locates broken wires easy out there. thought I saw it on one of your videos - just can't remember for sure.

+Hawaiian F150 The wiper wiring went right into the main engine harness and would do more harm than good to open it up so I ran a new ground. Yeah there are tone tools like the telecommunications companies use to find a break but in this case it would not have helped as the circuit was still complete just not able to carry a load.

@BSG Automotive, I went through all of this and replaced my ground, now the fuse blows as soon as I turn the key. I bypassed the column switch and ran a toggle to the high setting and the motor turns. What could be my issue?

I had a fuse keep burning. It would blow only with LOW and nothing else worked. Replaced the Motor and now Only LOW operates the motor. The blue has 12v and only the Low volts show at the plug. High there is no volts and no intermittent. The customer had replaced the motor and turn switch a while back. . I do get washer spray.

msd357 hello there I really enjoyed many of your helpful tips and tricks that were invaluable to me with my 2009 f150 lariat crew 4x4. I did a lot of wrenching on it. I sort of followed you and bought a 2017 ram 1500 rebel with the pentastar v6. My question is are there any performance upgrades that you condone for this engine. I was considering a performance exhaust and cold air intake. To be honest mostly for the sound as the stock system is pretty quiet but I was also hoping for a few more ponies too. If that's even possible without spending big money on a supercharger. Thanks in advance for the tips.

A loose spindle nut, or possibly worn and broken. You can sometimes just tighten the nut down on that one side to fix it.
