If you're renting gear try and stay with the same setup. Definitely take a canopy course as soon as possible! I'f yourr DZ is like mine you get plenty of crazy conditions and that's kind of what you need.

Did my first 3 jumps today. The good news is I have ZERO fear of ground. The bad news is I have ZERO fear of ground lol. I stood up 2 of the 3 landings but I feel like if the instructor weren't telling me when to flare I'd be hitting the ground full speed.

Very helpful for us who are new to the sport to better understand the physics and aerodynamics of flaring. Surely the cool kids with heaps of landings can learn something too. Blue skies 🪂
