Great video. Just got a new Fluke 773 and learnt a lot on what it can do. Like your video I also have the Fluke 189 and it was easy to follow your examples of testing. Like you Fluke is the one for me.

I want to measure a loop continually over an hour and monitor if their are any spikes, is their a hold max/min function. I think if i sat their for an hour watching the loop i would miss any spikes

At times, I could not see which button you pushed to switch to a particular function because your hand covers the pushbutton area of the Fluke 773. Otherwise, this is a good video.

Any milliamp clamp meters out there that aren't as pricey?

+Mark Robinson The Fluke 771 is cheaper, Milwaukee, Yokogawa, and Extech all make 4-20ma process clamps that I know of. Generally, these type of specialized meters cost more because the market for them is smaller. However, I'm sure there are cheap import 4-20ma process meters but you would need to examine the data sheets to see if they would meet your requirements. Also, do you specifically need a 4-20ma process clamp meter or are you just wanting a milliamp clamp meter where an general purpose milliamp clamp meter or earth leakage meter would do?

+Black Sheep Logic I want to read a 4-20ma signal without breaking the circuit. Thanks for the manufacturer suggestions. I like the 773 because it can also source a voltage that's really a nice feature.

can the 773 also measure A/C current or is this specifically designed for D/C only? I had a walk in box cooler with a window port heater that was picking up 0 amps by the previous technician. He confirmed the heater was dead however when I called the manufacturer they told me that the heater pulls .17 amps which is why my fluke 902 clamp meter could not pick up any current. heater wasn't open either and I had 110v to it. I think it's good but I couldn't confirm with my clamp meter.
