I use a Fluke 117 for all my automotive work, but have used it on my computers, too. I agree that if you need more from your meter that you probably need a different tool altogether, like a scope. Thanks for the great review.

Black Sheep Logic, this was fast and very good. I just got my Fluke 117 and noticed it didn't have a specific setting for mA and wondered why? Your quick rundown of the switch locator answered my question, and now I know why. 3 places past the decimal means mA. Thank You!

Good review , works for me 99% of the time , too ! I have an 87 , if I have to get really deep into something . Your point about a good scope being the next step is very valid . I’m thinking hard about a Fluke 125 , of some kind .

I just received one of these a few days ago. To make sure it wasn't a complete dud, I tested a few batteries. Tonight I used it for the first time for one of the reasons I purchased it for: to measure induced ground current from a device that is tripping a GFCI. Oops! It doesn't measure milliamps. I had no idea from reading the specs that this was the case. In fact, the specs are listed in different ways in four different places on Amazon and on Fluke's site. So this is going back and I'm getting an 87v. Yes, a scope would be nice, but the 87v is enough for now. It would be nice if Fluke made this limitation clearer. I really liked the size and non-contact voltage detection.

Great intro, this must be standard when you are looking for multimeter. 99,9 % of the time for troubleshooting we need just basics measurement. Experience and knowledge are much usefull than having microamps or dutycycle

This is promoted and sold by FLUKE, as an Electrician’s Meter. Of course this will not be ideal for the bench top Hobbyist in need of measuring Milliamps and Microamps. It even has built in ability of a NCV tester, which works very well, and eliminates carrying around a separate little tool for detecting live voltage!
