I've had the Fluke 123 for 16 years and I absolutely love it. If you are an industrial electrician working with all sorts of industrial electronics such as VFDs, Temperature controllers, SCR control boards for heaters, Synchronous motor controllers, etc. then this is a great tool.

Thanks for a very informative and easy to follow demonstration. I just bought a Fluke 124 used, no manual, never saw one before, and now know how to use it, enough to probably find my way through all my needs. I guess it's a very old meter. I just bought a Fluke 125 NIB. Someone owned it but never used it. Gave $200 USA dollars for it. The fact it's Bus Health offers RS-232 says it all. Really appreciate the video.

@@johnbiden2834 True but it's a pretty old Scope Meter. I haven't decided if you keep it or part with it. I'm a Technician but use an old Tektronix 2235 Ocilloscope..

@@scotta9114 Whats the problem of an old scope, as long its functional and look-and-feel is good? This scopemeter is not so bulky, i stil like it much and use it as a multimeter with graphics. Its portable and isolated from mains (no unintended short-cuts can happen) and from PC, if infrared cable is attached. Yes, it has no zoom or deep memory, and its limited to 20 MHz/40 MHz. But this is not a problem, its just a limitation, as anything has (when i use a screwdriver, i not expect its a hammer). Nobody should throw his multimeter away, because its just old. Same with scopes. Especially Fluke is vintage and never worthless. When i pull out my 20 years old Fluke multimeter it measures precicely and reliable as new meters, while other meters loose precicion, if not calibrated at least any 5 years. Some new devices from Far East have terrible software and not the same look-and-feel as Fluke. Some not even had hardware-trigger. This scopemeter fills the gap between multimeters and bench-top scopes. If you want a better portable scopemeter with battery, choose Rhode Schwarz Scope Rider. But until i dont need it really, i will not buy it (4000$)

I would love to see more of the rs485 bus health. Preferably simulating poor wiring and multi addressed devices with proper termination resistor on the EOL and without EOL resistor

I know that the series 125 meter is the top of the line in this series because it includes the ability to make watts, harmonic analysis. My question to you is are you familiar with the fluke 43B power analyzer because I would like to know if the fluke 125 incorporates all the functionality of the fluke 43B

43B is full fledged 1phase power analyser. But what makes 125 handy is its multimeter and scope functionalities including dual trace . This makes its good for field repair as well as power quality tests.

I have an opportunity to buy a used Fluke 125 for a good price but I was wondering if it can measure DC power (Vdc * Adc). From the video, it looks like during power measurements, it uses AC coupling for voltage and current. Can this be changed? Can you select DC mode for voltage and current during Power measurement? I'm interested in DC power measurements for automotive troubleshooting and PV inverters with battery.

I was considering getting a Fluke 123 second hand, and this video has mostly sold me. But I heard their usable scope bandwidth is actually only around 2.5MHz?

The Fluke 125 has a real-time sampling is 25MS/s so it really depends on the resolution you need and what you are trying to capture. The 125 will not replace a bench scope.

One is included with the 125, as what i know. Its called Fluke BB120 (BNC To Shielded Banana Adapter)
