Hi Ashwin sir, it truly was a pleasure to watch your videos. I highly connect with what you said regarding how music is a doorway to spirituality ❤. Im of a similar persuasion wherein I feel that any field pursued with sufficient purity of motive does elevate man to the higher realms and starts to feel so similar to others (I'm a psychologist by trade, but there seems to be so many similarities between healing the mind and flute playing). I thank the fates to have brought me to this channel and wish u all the best life has to offer my friend. May you be happy, may you grow in knowledge and kindness.

Hello Ashwin Srinivasan, I am from Nepal. I follow your videos regularly (aapke videos humko vaye :)). As you said you read all the comments, I want to suggest you something as I always expect it in your videos. Your lectures are conceptual, provides beautiful insights and inspiring at the same time. It would be great if you play some dhun at the end (or somewhere). There are obviously lots of videos where you've played and sung but it would be nice if you include some piece in your lecture videos. Your fan.

Very insightful video sir, so grateful to you for sharing this. I wish if you could throw some light upon practicing flute through physical limitations. I am a student of flute, started just 5months back, although i've been a classical vocalist for more than a decade. Its not very unusual for us to do our riyaaz for 5-6 hours together but when i try to do the same with flute i experience fatigue and at times the breath wouldn't even come. Sir i really love flute and i want to play it all the time. Kindly let us all know how to enhance physical capacity that enable us to practice more. Thank you 🙏🏼💖

Hi, I'm also learning flute and followed Jane's videos for quick tips on improving techniques: kzbin.info/door/_7G0EUl7IxUpAHhR4_l0igvideos She talks about the same issues which you have mentioned here. Go through all her videos, you will definitely get more tips to apply. BTW I also used to experience fatigue but it has improved tremendously from last 2-3 months.

@ashwinflute5 жыл бұрын
How do I practice what? Humility? Haha. All we need, I think is a realisation of the fact that we are not the ‘doers’. We are the mediums. And when we constantly realise that we’ve been chosen by the supreme power to do what happens through us, the humility should be de facto. :)

Very nicely said, Sir! But, is it imposible to play something, one has never heard? I think that the feeling of being in that ecstatic trance while playing the instrument, might make someone have a glimpse of a small amount of the huge ocean that music is.. Just a thought :-)
@ashwinflute5 жыл бұрын
Playing something that you’ve never heard is humanly, scientifically and unscientificqlly impossible. It is ALWAYS a combination of something you’ve heard before. :) Do ask ANY experienced person.

It is this new ‘mashup’ of mixed sounds we hear, that adds to the droplets in the ocean! :)

sir in one of your videos you had mentioned to look up a video of Pandit Ajoy chakrabarty .i wanted to know in detail what i should be practising to know the correct placement of notes and identifying the note .my teacher says when i play it on bansuri they are in tune but when i sing the notes they are all over the place

Try to write up your own combinations of notes and play them. It’s ok if you aren’t able to sing it.

Sir when you play a melody. The Surs in the melody come in your mind first or the fingers play the melody before you identify the surs in your mond. Plz plz answer
@ashwinflute5 жыл бұрын
Sur has to come in the mind first. It is like speaking. Or writing. The words / sentences have to come to the mind first. Then we speak. Right?
