2001 gets criticised for being a rubbish year, but the racing was actually really good. At end of year, MG and Peugeot weren;t too far off the pace either

It started badly, but it got better over the year

The racing was at an extremely high level, because the majority of the cars were brilliant (except the Peugeots) and because there were so little cars, it was only the most dedicated and best drivers left really. A grid with Plato, Muller, Thompson, Neal, Reid, Soper and Eaves? Yes please!
