These Custom Rounds Are Brutal... BTD6 / Bloons TD 6 - it's not often I end up playing a weekly odyssey, but when I do you know it's special - this one has so many custom round changeups that you essentially have little idea of what to expect each round! To top it off, we also have extreme mode & no knowledge for an extra challenge.

This was definitely the first odyssey I genuinely found difficult for the hard difficulty, took over 2 days and almost 2 hours worth of playing for me to finally beat the last map on hard difficulty Thankfully spirit of the forest carried in the last map for me

yea i felt like this odyssey was hard, but manageable for less experienced players. it was actually challenging and not a chore to do. other odysseys, i spend the whole time fast forwarded and did it all in one go and it felt like ages. i restarted this one over and over thinking of different strats, and had so much fun it didnt feel long and boring at all.

Making this odyssey was quite the interesting process. I came up with the idea for the "story" first, and sorta just built around it. In essence, the limitations aren't necessarily power based but simply based on what would and wouldn't be able to be produced had the monkeys lost access to their primary industries entirely. The custom rounds are intended to be quite complex and rather difficult to figure out even knowing what happens, more just to symbolize the monkeys losing even on the information front; it's intended to be like playing the game anew, with a highly unfamiliar set of rounds. Since NK doesn't actually display the custom rounds anywhere in game, they are only really available to those who use discord. Because of this, I decided to ease players in, so they could progressively get used to the custom rounds before the final map. This odyssey was actually quite heavily nerfed, with the last map initially being painful into lategame even with some of the best possible setups. Nerfs applied by me: - archmage enabled, but wizard limited to 3 instead of 4 (this is easily the biggest nerf tbh) - 1 heli allowed (1-off map solo OR shove/ddraft just cracked) - superstorm enabled (negligible nerf, it just makes the 4th map soloable so you can take a break even though its already free and a break but i just wanted to relax on the 4th map and not care enough so shut up) - various nerfs to workshop, least cash 125k -> 175k, bloon & moab speed 90% -> 80/70%, moab hp 100% -> 90%, cooldown rate 110% -> 100% - various less significant nerfs to the earlier maps which i forgot for the most part (theres one that sticks out quite a bit which you can feel free to guess, more just to add a bit more leniency than anything) The workshop nerfs seem relatively insignificant on their own, but paired with the lack of archmage it was quite painful, especially because even post nerf you aren't actually meant to have camo village (but nk enabled it anyways) so you would be heavily reliant on shimmer to beat map 5 Changes made by nk: - various custom rounds changes (mostly for lag reduction, they just missed some changes on some rounds though) - camo village enabled - infinite glue gunners (tarn just forgot to limit them by accident or something) My next odyssey has actually been completed and thoroughly tested. I specifically balanced it around the heroes, making them all powerful for some maps while all but useless on some others. It can be done with no mk and no hero that costs monkey money, and contains a great deal of variety in themes. It is overall quite short, so it may not get accepted, but it will be quite interesting if it does.

@@AuroraTheFirstLight most people found difficulty in the lack of knowledge on the new custom rounds. Knowing every single one and claiming it was easy quite literally defeats the whole reason why people struggled with it.

Bro it was pretty easy, you can just put arch mage and spirit in 4th map and go afk, same for workshop, start with double discount and place those then buy MOABDom, just make sure to place the spirit close to the track so you get more of those stronger vines. I didn't even use track extension. People be forgetting the half cash odysseys we've gotten before.

Challenge idea: You can only add another tower if all existing towers have seven upgrades. Or the opposite, you can only buy an upgrade for a tower if it brings it upgrade count to equal or one more than all other towers, and once you buy your first upgrade you can no longer buy new towers.

This was a super fun odyssey, I really enjoyed this one. Early maps weren't too bad, just tried to conserve towers. Workshop I knew was going to be the toughest part even without knowing the ins and outs of the custom rounds, so I picked Ezili. She makes the early rounds a fair bit tougher but her hex was SO valuable on workshop, especially seeing as how r100 was 3 BADs. Her hex took out 2, and the combination of an overclocked archmage and a spirit of the forest, along with track extensions took out the 3rd. Also, spirit of the forest was the absolute mvp once r80+ started happening. Ridiculous number of fortified super ceramics that I honestly have no clue how another tower could've dealt with when also taking into account the limited tiers/cash allowed for a lot of the maps.

there was one odyssey from a while ago which sent out giant clumps of bfbs on what felt like every other round. the 2nd map in particular was especially hard. even had to use a few powers because i couldnt get enough money to fend off the 500 bfbs that came on round 30 something

Many of my upcoming odysseys will have custom rounds, but most of them won't be to this extent. The custom rounds for this odyssey were intended to make it feel like you're playing an entirely different gamemode. I do have some quite interesting custom rounds ideas however.

This odyssey frustrated me to no end the first time I tried to beat it. I spent like 5000 monkey money on continues and I still couldn’t beat it that final round 100. So I rebooted my save and re-tried it with Ezili and it was much easier, not needing to continue even once. I would be down for harder odysseys, I just think they should probably increase trophy reward amounts when they do so, or just give something to compensate.

I gotta Say, this odissey was hard but really entertaining, second odissey i tried but really satisfying After it was done, the First map was almost First try, Just needed some adjustment with glue and ninja second map Just needed the druid, third map the most easy helicopter and alchemist, fourth map First try with archmage and dominator, 5 was Just brutal but with crossbow master from the beginning It was pretty Easy later

Hey ISAB! If there is ever an odessey containing the new "middle of the road" map, here's a little tip: You can place a tower on the rusty water Container (thing?) to make it have FULL MAP RANGE! It is broken and I don't think a lot of people know this.

For me this odyssey was actually pretty easy. It was more difficult than most, but still not that bad, especially with max knowledge. I beat every map first try except for the last one, and that was because I didn’t know there were 3 bads on r100 instead of one. The odyssey about lunar new year a couple months ago was definitely much much harder for me.

The lunar new year odyssey was honestly pretty free. The only hard part was the start of the 2nd map. It was actually originally a lot easier as it had been created the previous update, and tower rebalances made it easier.

I will be progressively making them harder and seeing what nk will and won't allow, my end goal is for the playerbase as a whole to get used to odysseys that aren't just absolute snoozefests like the current one that came out today. A couple challenge creators look to be working on odysseys right now, so you can certainly look forward to some more challenging odysseys.
