My dad used to drink with Mark McManus and I went to school with Alex Norton, so that concludes my Taggart history. I really enjoy your trips around Glasgow, it brings back many memories.

I have not been to Glasgow for quite a while now, I have retired to Spain. I was born in (1960)and raised in Springburn ( Petershill). I left Springburn in 1981. it used to be a fantastic place and good memories as a boy. It's so depressing looking at how much they have destroyed the place. The Cemetery also looks to have deteriorated, Anyway, there has been some good work done around the city with the new buildings. Good video mate, bye from sunny Spain.😊

As a child I was once at the Barras when filming was taking place for Taggart. To this day I still have no idea which episode it was.

I remember this episode of taggart about a fictional football team where the manager is murdered as part of a financial scandal. Denzil from only fools and horses played the manager, and firhill stadium (partick thistle) was used as the home ground of said team.

I’ve spent the last 6 years working with Vince at Dobbies Garden Centre. He was such a lovely, genuine soul and I’ll miss him so much. I still remember walking into a shift and seeing him and thinking to myself… that guy looks just like Vincent Friell….little did I know I’d become a colleague and friends with the Wolfman. Rest in peace Vinnie 😢xxxxx

Loved this video! Loved Taggart as well. I used to work in Byres Road, in the 80’s. I remember one day they were filming just outside our shop. Mark McManus was sitting in front of the cop car, which then sped down to the subway, he gave us a wave in his typical dour way, classic Taggart😂 Lovely seeing Gerard Kelly in that scene, I knew him before he became an actor, his dad had a chip shop in Shettleston, where I grew up. I was in touch with Gerard before he died, and he told me that he had been in London for an audition, and his dad warned him not to be late back as he had to work the evening shift in the chip shop. Great memories, thank you.

Aye, Glesga born and bred. Loved Taggart. My dad used to drink with Mark in The Queens Park Cafe, he always his wee black and white collie dug called Tam with him. I met him a few times, lovely guy with a dry sense of humour. My dad attended his funeral at the Holy Cross Chapel in Govanhill. It was packed out. Most of Strathclyde Police turned up to honour Mark. Incredibly moving. Thanks for this.

You missed the iconic Gardner St Hill in Partick - a location which appears in the opening credits of several series. My late mother-in-law owned the ground floor corner flat on Caird Drive, and her living room window (overlooking Gardner Street) was seen in it (briefly) every episode.

Dressing goon. I remember seeing an old mark McManus wandering about Vicky rd with his boder collie,late 80s,he did drink in QPcafe.I think he lived opposite the park,bandstand side.(wyndford. Not windford bro.sorry to be pedantic. I hope this doesn't wynd you up 😉) I lived happily in Harland cottages for a couple years.the track goes all the way to balloch,a superb summer cycle. I'm glad I found this. I've lived in Canada for many years so it was on a visit home that I first saw Taggart. So my Christmas present that year was the Taggart series. Our Westie is called Mungo and our Scottie is of course called Taggart and he couldn't have been named better. He has the exact nature, dour and independent, as the chief inspector. What a great web site to look back on how Glasgow used to look.

One Maryhill connection from the Glasgow Harbour/Meadowside Granary is that this was the location of the last Partick Thistle ground in Partick before moving to Firhill.

I worked for STV from 1984 to 2000 and remember Taggart in production. For Knife Edge (S1 Ep 4) we travelled out to a waste recycling plant at Queenslie to set up some TV grade monitors both of which immediately broke down. This is where the body parts are spotted on the conveyor belt.The episode also featured a very young Iain Glen as the drummer in the band. I have some photos of the nightclub interiors in Studio A.

Dressing goon or goonie. I really enjoyed that video. When I was a student living in a bedsit in Corunna St, the Taggart team fished a body out of our communal bin area😂. They also filmed one of the stories at Gean House, which was an hotel in my home town (Alloa). Would have been in winter 91/92. I mind the excitement at school when 'Mike Jardine' was spotted buying a sandwich in Woolies😂. I think Hannah Gordon was the main suspect. I also used to work with a former actress who played a Taggart villain, owning a dodgy IVF clinic😅. Crazy how much Scotland has changed.

Is a later episode he visits the ferry masters house/pub at.yoker ferry. West end side, which is on the cycle path to clyde bank. Looks like the cycle path/canal was a favorite filming location. Phone box was fake, just a prop

It must have been after series one that they went to the ferry ramp. Remember that season one was a pilot and 5 2 hour episodes and once it was received well they reduced the episode length and made more. Some day I may track down later episodes as this video has been really popular.

this is crazy finding this video because back in the day i hated taggart, watching some boring cop show when i was younger was the last thing i wanted to do. I wanted to go clubbing and go out not sit at home, LOL Earlier this year i visited Glasgow and i remembered Taggart (not sure why, LOL) I've now watched up until Mark Mcmanus leaves and i've got to say that Taggart is easily one of the best TV series ive ever watched and these days i watch a lot of old TV.. thanks for this Video , very interesting.

What a tour, I still mind going to see Restless Natives like it was just a few months ago, lost count how many times I've seen the film, for some strange reason when I hear or see the film name I always think of Anderson Bus Station, always stood in in it with my mum waiting on our bus. I drove past the granary for years on the Clydeside Expressway, usually on my way to Faifley Housing Association or Bellsmyre, pretty certain it was Reigart that done all the demolition BUT my old memory is getting a tad rusty now. Panama Jax - WOW! Been in there a few times back in the 80's, hearing you talk about it was a real curveball, did not see that coming one bit, where did the time go ? Massive Thanks for such an amazing tour, will also pass on to a few others who will also enjoy. Cheers!

I'm really glad the video brought back good memories. If Restless natives brings back memories of standing in Anderson bus station you might not realise yo probably walked past the joke shop on the way to and from the bus garage. I tracked down the Restless natives locations a few years ago for my other site ;rewoundandfound.com/restless-natives/ When I posted them on a Facebook page, somebody challenged my location of the joke shop and swore it was actually in Edinburgh. Vincent Friell actually joined in that conversation and in my defence he confirmed it was Glasgow and said they brought a Lothian bus from Edinburgh to drive by the window for effect.

My nana - who was from Sighthill, where a number of the scenes were filmed - once spotted Taggart hunkered down outside the mortuary by the Saltmarket with a half bottle in his hand. "Aw, Taggart", she said. "You look just like ye dae oan the telly!" "Aye", he called back. "And jist as f***ing ugly!" She was delighted.
