Baepsae is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated songs by BTS, ever. I mean, people like it and it's talked about, but usually for the "wrong" reasons. Of course we appreciate the hip thrusts and everything hahah BUT. What I absolutely love about Baepsae, apart from the instrumentation and groove, is THE LYRICS. The lyrics are among the most relatable lyrics I have ever heard, especially for people like me, young adults (around 25/27 years old) that are entering the real adult world. It perfectly depicts society, and the deteriorated world we live in. At work its "passion pay", abuse of power, being constantly accused of being the "generation that has given up", of not putting enough effort. I just get chills every single time. But you know what is even better? Baepsae is SO SO SO SARCASTIC. Its unapologetically sarcastic. Even the choreo! I adore it, because it perfectly suits the song and its meaning. 7 artists that can dance amazingly and perform utterly complicated dance routines, in Baepsae decide to come up with almost a stupid choreo, but stupid in the best way possible! Its almost as if they are saying "look, you keep saying that we dont work hard enough, that we are a lost generation, so take this, the stupidest dance routine to one of the most utterly sarcastic but painfully true political stance". And I could go on forever and ever about Baepsae

Honestly, I have never gotten the love for the hip trusts. I see it more as a fun dance, but ARMY thought me it was seen as extremely hot in many people's eyes😅 But just the meaning behind the song, and it's such a lighthearted and fun performance. It's one of my top BTS songs, but I can never rank their songs accurately. Just that Baepsae is up there💜

@@kunilsen2519 I understand what you mean! But in my case, I do appreciate the hip thrusts. Wait wait wait, I know it sounds weird! 😂 Let me explain. First of all, there is a reason why the hip thrusts are there in the first place, and that is because the entire song is based on the Korean popular saying "뱁새가 황새 따라가면 가랑이 찢어진다", meaning "if the crow tit tries to walk like a stork, it will rip its crotch". So the hip thrusts are there for a very good reason, although people who don't know much about the song or about Korean will definitely miss this point. And also, the hip thrusts, aside their meaning, are part of the big scheme of the choreo, and essential for the message the choreo and the song want to convey. And that is, in my opinion, being bold and in-your-face. In my opinion, the choreo is not fun, it's just sarcastic, stupid. I associate it with the Go Go choreo, another song that people just find fun and light, while I could write an entire essay on why I think it is, again, of the most unapologetically political songs out there. Again, based on "losing hope" towards the future, and spending all your money on stupid stuff. They are just genius.

Baepsae is fantastic. The thing I love the most is J Hope´s dance break. He did it different each time they performed! Amazing. Then, this is the best way to talk about a so serious political, economical issue: with a funky, funny beat and a crazy goofy great choreo.

Weverse did a survey asking ARMY about songs they want to see on stage that they haven't seen in a while or every. Baepsae was fairly high on the results and when the boys found out, Yoongi commented that ARMY just wanted to see Hobi's hip thrusts. That prompted Jimin to speak up and comment that his hips had worked hard, too. Then someone else, maybe JK, commented that their hips had also worked hard in that song. It was hysterical On the plus side, this was in an episode of Run! BTS, so you'll probably see it eventually.

I'm glad you're watching the explanation video as well. This is definitely one of their "explanation video is a must"-videos and as a bonus it even explains concepts they refer to in other songs as well, like the number of things young koreans give up to survive that RM references in Dope as an example. Baepsae is a crow-tit a little teeny white bird. It makes me crazy when they translate it to try-hard. I love how the whole choreo they move like birds and the adlibs in the background sounds like birds too. This is the song that led me to BTS. It is still my favorite. With BTS it is always more than the lyrics and dance choreography ...u will alway bop then realized , damn that song was actually deep😮 and the u will love them more😍🤩 Also if ever u haven't seen spine breaker, I would recommend checking it by this order : BTS making MV for spine breaker, the MV it self, then the explanation, then the live 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Are you finally going to watch one of the medleys ?!?! The dope, baepsae, fire and idol one is my favorite !!! The LA one is great, the Paris one … Chicago and Newark are all fire!!! There’s tons of fancams that are incredible to watch and channels like “theultimatedodo” have multiple shows where they’re right at the front of the thrust stage with the main camera so they all come right up to do their thing and feels like you’re literally at the concert and you can see them all in front of you and see the big screens behind w other members at the same time…. They’re so much fun and all of them are different bc they are all energy and crows interaction and hype… little choreo at the end of fire and idol…. But ugh you can feel the energy flying off the screen with them… they’re so much fun to watch They don’t do the choreo for baepsae in the medley except the thrusts lol but I promise it makes it a million times more fun and more energy… you have to react !

I am pretty sure Baepsae is one of the reasons I stopped watching bts reactions (or at least being really really careful with who I watch) because it’s not appreciated “especially internationally” enough for its meaning rather just a fun song and for the hip thrust (which are there for a reason )and not many reacters seem to take it seriously ( that’s also why watching a explanation to most bts songs are very important , so I was SOOO excited for your reaction you’re in my top fav bts reactors and only ones I watch , you never disappoint 💜

South Korea is...hard. Workaholics galore. For many families (I am in NO way saying ALL...but many), the only important things are that their child/ren score top marks, go to "the best" university, and land a *good* job (doctor, lawyer, or other high paying career). Because the message of the song is "there is too much pressure on students"...the hip thrusts are - quite literally - a giant "fuck you" to the powers that be. Yes, everyone should have a good work ethic, but...due to the pressure students are faced with on a routine basis...sadly, South Korea has the highest rate of suicides vs. any other country.
