As you go through to their discography, it was mind blowing. Their music videos are pure art.You should pay attention to their mvs cause a lot has meanings and needed a deep interpretation.Some of their songs are connected to each other as part of their BU.All of their mv's and songs are amazingly done. Fake Love truly is a masterpiece. The M/V can be a bit confusing if you don’t know the BU (Bangtan Universe), which is a fictional universe that spans across their works starting with I Need U (2015). But nevertheless, it’s still an amazing M/V. All of the visual effects except V’s phone turning into sand, are all real. You can check them out in the behind the scenes video. Fake Love is from the Love Yourself era, so you can tell that the lyrics reflect that: a lot of emphasis on self-love, self-discovery, etc. Thanks for your genuine reactions, I will be waiting for more!

Hey my friend! Do you remember Jin protecting something in the lantern in the beginning? It was the rose representing the fake love. After the 'storm', the lantern was tipped over and the rose was gone. if you listen closely the "whoop whoop" is actually Namjoon(RM) going "fake love" so it's "FAKE LOVE (fake love)" and it is actually part of the official Fan chant. so during the concert, BTS will go "FAKE LOVE" and Army will immediately go "Fake love!" after.

This video and the extended "rock" version is packed with symbolism and part of an overarching alternate reality storyline that they wove through the album series. This is referred to as the BU or Bangtan Universe. Remember from your first introduction video where it was said that Jin was featured as the central figure in their early videos? This is what that video creator meant. This storyline is told in parts through books, notes, a web app, short films, music videos and probably more. It involves time travel and amnesia and if I"m not mistaken it was possibly meant as a storyline for a Kdrama. If you end up reviewing more videos, you'll see a lot of similar footage and symbols from this era. I'm a new ARMY, just about 6 months, so by no means an expert. I have relied on watching some of XCeleste's and other KZbin creator's explanations for help demystifying the videos. Shoutout to those creators! This has helped as there is just no way I'm going to find the time to gather and read these materials myself. At the end....the first lines are sung by Jimin (high) and V (low)...those are the silhouettes surrounding each other and then drifting apart. The last lines are sung be Jin (high) and JK (low)...those are the silhouettes first kneeling left and right and then coming together in the middle.

I was also introduced to BTS from this video from VoicePlay. I just looked it up earlier than you. I think what's even more impressive about this video is that very very little special effects were used. Like the floor collapsing behind JK, it really did collapse right under him. The fire was really blowing in front of Jin and all that water really did fall around Jimin. It's insane.

Love the reaction as always. One thing to remember is that if you want to see their live LIVE performance, dont go for the comeback music shows, especially mnet because they're not live most of the time, or the backing track is so much louder than the live singing, so i think it's pointless if you want to hear their live vocals. (unless the dance is enough for you). Check out their concerts videos, award shows (MMA, MAMA, etc), or any other performances where they're using hand mics, they're live. Or maybe shows like music bank, the live vocals are usually a lot louder there. 👍

This song is from the Love yourself album - Fake love can be anything but since the album is about loving yourself... we fake love ourselves, thinking we are okay and do not treat ourselves right... I'm so sick of this fake love. We have to look in the mirror and ask who are you really? Each song has a story literally, you can google or youtube to find out. An album's songs will connect and in this one where V stands in a hallway of lit cell phones at the end of the hall there is a wall with Save Me written, but if it is flipped it says I'm Fine... both names of songs on this album. RM doesn't miss a trick. Each song is detailed even if we westerners don't see it or get it every little thing has a meaning and reason for being there. I always look it up and love stuff like this. The MV of Fake Love is part of the BU (Bangtan Universe), which means it's part of a fictional story BigHit introduced with the MV of I Need You, and runs through different video's and a game, and webtoon and notes. The BU is a whole other rabbithole to dive in, pretty complex and mysterious. If you haven't yet, you should watch I Need You MV too, another storytelling, amazing video.

I agree with you about the lyrics. They are so poetic and also have very deep meanings and are open enough to interpretation so that the listener can apply them to their own life. I haven't taken a look into the official explanation, so I might be wrong, but my take is that this song is about the relationship with the media and how you have to please the public to a certain extent as a celebrity.

In simpler terms, tear album in particular discusses pain while Answer album discusses the fruits of everything youve been through hence the song epiphany where we finally learned how to love ourselves excluding everything else. But yes youre right their songs are both deep and open enough to be interpreted in different ways and you did it nicely!!
