Since everyone is talking about the Nicki collab I want to point out that the colorful suits aren't from american fashion style but are Ankara prints, from African culture since this song is a fusion btw South Korean and South African beats and instruments
@nanaboo08096 жыл бұрын
Ty for pointing that out because everyone seems to be ignoring or unaware of the fact that there is lots of African representation in the song and video as well as the choreo.

HEYYO!! In this music video they went over the top with cgi and colours and everything because they were making fun of the fact that that's what people think they are like (people who don't listen to kpop) but they were also saying even if they were like that, they dont care what people think of them and bts doesn't chase the west, the west chases bts- also making the point they will remain korean and not westernise themselves. You should also listen to the whole album its so so good!!!

People don’t notice the ships on the table with them, with the globes it’s like how people are saying they’re pioneering in the industry, they’re also showing their respect from where they incorporate their music from, they’re big into hip hop which traditionally is African beats and so they’re wearing Ankara and they’re also doing gwara gwara, the background has a lion king looking background because and they also have korean nobility clothing with actions such as Jung kook doing the dry cough which was what nobility did to say signal they were resent and to stop talking about them behind their backs.... there’s a lot of great symbolism in this. They showed their roots, their appreciation and that they do this because they enjoy it

The bunny in the moon is most likely a reference to when Taehyung said he believes there are rabbits on the moon! this whole mv is about loving and being yourself no matter what others think about you. People used to tease Taehyung for being different and "weird" and even "Childish" and I think this is just a fun little easter egg showing that he isn't afraid to be himself; wild and creative.

The rabbit on the moon is Asian folklore - Moon Rabbit or also called Jade Rabbit. In the Korean folklore, they say that the rabbit is pounding rice in the mortar to make rice cakes. I heard about this when I went to Gyeongbok Palace during the Lunar New Year Festival a few years ago, when I was living in Seoul. This whole video is an interesting mix of their culture and other cultures. I've never seen a video like this before for sure.
