3 lifelong friends - Peter, Scott, and J Mac - together their powers combined create - The AMP Theory. Which stands for Accountability, Mindset, and Persistence. This is our core motto. We post full length podcasts every Friday, but we post videos Monday through Thursday, and sometimes on the weekends. We react to a lot things including, music videos, tv shows, and pretty much anything interesting. We also may get blunt at times, but that's just how we are. And yes, Peter is a hater...we can't help it. We try everyday. Anyways, check out our videos and laugh at how dumb we are. Thank you. We are The AMP Theory.

Bollywood might have been referenced in terms of scale, however, the choreo is a mix of traditional Korean dancing and gwara gwara dance which comes from Africa 😊 Africa is also referenced in outfits, fabrics and some sets along with an abundance of Korean culture references

No, it’s not Bollywood dance…it’s Korean traditional dance but people can see it similar to their dance too!

Them being positive is why I like them. I can listen to rap that isn’t negative and talking about bullshit. Being positive and uplifting is not corny. Talking about selling drugs, trying to be a gangster and rapping about bullshit most of these so called rappers ain’t never been though is what’s corny. I’m a black female, from Brooklyn and let me tell you that negativity ain’t it. BTS set the standard for positive rap music that actually sounds good.

This video was kind of a diss to people talking shit and stereotyping. They have like a million members…ok they put a million of their faces….their videos are flamboyant ok take all these colors and random animals they dress weird ok check this out. At the end of the day they don’t care because you can’t stop them from loving themselves. I don’t know about the Bollywood dancing but I do know they have African dancing…the choreographer is African. There’s a bunch of hidden things in this video and you could probably watch an explanation video that provides way better information but anyway I enjoy your reactions 💜

They basically used everything they were being criticised for and threw it in the one video - e.g. that their videos are too busy, that they shouldn’t wear such loud clothes, that they should tone down the Korean cultural stuff to make it in the US, that they were too into African culture and not Korean enough, that they shouldn’t use cgi, that they shouldn’t use filters because it’s juvenile, that they shouldn’t wear glasses etc. I could go on…

The video is packed with imagery of their global travels - Western icons like Snow White, Hong Kong director John Woo, African dance, prints, animals, the globe on the table that moves to show more of the world, the airplane (a callback to Hobi's Airplane and Airplane Pt. 2 in which they own the role of mariachi traveling the world to share music), etc, as well as their own culture. I absolutely believe there was a Bollywood influence. It isn't as overt as the other things, but the mob dances with everyone in unison is an unmistakably similar style. And a signature of Bollywood is that they may blend traditional Indian dance with other world styles.

i know y'all said that this may reference bollywood and that may be the case but its just kind of loose inspiration. this video is very ironic but also incorporates a lot of korean culture in it. this comment will be a bit long so bare(?) with me. the first thing that you notice while watching this video is how colorful and vibrant it is and while bts usually have relatively vibrant mvs, this one is pretty excessive. the second thing you notice is all of the cgi and green screens used in the video. this was all done on purpose because this is what people in the west assume kpop is. vibrant colours and nonsensical videos, and a million members with different hair colors. the video has a lot of references to traditional korean festivals and folklore such as those really colorful creatures and the reference to the rabbit in the moon, them saying "ursoo, it's awesome!" is a korean saying i believe, etc. this is shown because at around this time bts were being called "to western" and that they were getting "americanized" (which honestly should not be a convention at ALL as it implies bts is only popular and successful because they're "exotic" which is such a weirdo take). there's also subtle references to things that have been said to members. rm had filters on his face for a bit in the video because people used to hate on him because he liked playing around with filters while livestreaming. jungkook wore red hair because someone told him he looked ugly with red hair. v wore glasses because people told him he looked ugly with them. suga has a snow white shirt on because people called him too pale, etc etc. another thing if note is how they're dressed and styled. this era, the members had more obvious makeup as well as less super masculine attire which is commentary on the whole "bts are girls" thing. jimin is even seen with a fan used in a traditional korean fan dance which is usually performed by women (he later performed the dance on stage at an award show). other references include the dance which is inspired by traditional korean and african dances as well as the song being heavily influenced by traditional korean music (which i can't remember the exact name for. i believe its pansori but im not 100% sure). edit: i forgot about the tiger!! the tiger is korea's national animal and its a pretty huge deal. okay i think im done now and that's basically everything of note! im sorry if everything isn't 100% accurate. i wrote this from the info i still remembered from when i learned and searched about this video and its meaning almost 3 years ago. edit 2.0: i completely forgot about the song's meaning oml... this song is a diss track. its a "ayo, fuxk you and whatever you say about me. i love myself, my culture and my fans so mind your own goddamm business." third and final edit: grammar

BTS!!! Recomendaciones: Black Swan, On , Blue and Grey, Mic Drop, Butter, etc. Buen viaje!

It would be great if you look at the year of the video and compare to the other music of the same year ans see how different. For me BTS music is advanced for their year. Plus each albums of BTS music are like telling the story and story continues like reading Harry Potter book1, 2, 3,….. Also each BTS song has meaning behind. They are a lot of videos that explains the meaning behind them. 😊

The Idol platform is an amalgam of sound with visual elements such as props, costuming, cosmetics, motion, and sometimes visual outrageousness. It is a central modality to a large swath of K Pop but also has caused some to view being an Idol as a standard for corporate performance which doesn't make for true artistry. BTS actually is an aberration within that. To a significant extent while BTS employs the Idol platform they also thanks to their very progressive management in Big Hit have been allowed to be involved in the composition of most of their work and have been allowed to express sometimes controversial ideas in song. The song Idol throws the kitchen sink at the viewer deliberately including borderline absurd suits to make a strong statement. As BTS rose and was getting global recognition, Korean society which had already minimalized the artistry of Idols broadly started deeming BTS as an international group somewhat detached from Korean culture. They were also framed as corporate spectacle. BTS says in the song so what you create boxes to put me in. I know who I am and I can be as creative as I want. And I'm loving my trip. They even splashed all sorts of Korean imagery on the screen while celebrating a number of world art forms, including Bollywood. What makes Idol great is other groups tethered to corporate song writing couldn't have created something like this. And, perhaps more forward looking, BTS as third generation K Pop leaders were through their members' freedom of expression improving the Idol platform opening the door as role models for many of the 4th generation groups emerging currently.

Pls react to ATEEZ "Wonderland"🙏🏼🔥 Short introduction to them: - They are called 4th generation leaders & performance kings - They have 8 members "2 Rapper &. 6 vocalists" - They have a pirate concept - They debuted 2018 as Ateez. before that, they where a group named "kq fellaz" where they did dances to popular songs, wich brought them a lot of international attention - their fandom name is "ATINY" wich means "ateez + destiny" - about the 2 rappers: (1) Hoongjoong & also the leader of the group -> he often use "hahaha" before he starts rapping (2) Mingi -> he use "Fix on" before he's rapping, he explained that he want the people to pay attention when he starts rapping - They are known for their powerful performances & their crazy good stage presents - they write and produce many of their songs by themselves - They won an award for "worldwide Fan's Choice"

I wish they hadn't deleted it so that people could see for themselves and make their own decision rather than rely on unfairly boiled-down accusations like this one. I watched the first video and I would never subscribe if I thought these guys had ill-intentions towards BTS. Yes they said some ignorant things in the form of inappropriate joking amongst friends, but it became clear that they took the information fans gave them and addressed their initial reaction and took the time to educate themselves. We should allow people to grow and not be so quick to put labels on them. We should celebrate that they want to learn, instead of chastising them when the issue has already been put to bed.
