He is the bravest to experiment and be adventurous with his sounds. He has always been good at blending genres. That is why he is that good in his craft. He keeps studying and respecting cultures or genre. His flow in this song cements his skill as a very versatile rapper and artist. j-hope is the most dynamic and diverse with his music. Add the fact he has good vocals that he could manipulate to fit any songs. Flexibility and distinct flavour. All him! His artistry is mind blowing! This is just the first song of the album and not even the title track! Funny you mentioned Dionysius and Dis-ease all of them were written by j-hope. He is the main writer for both! I highly respect the 3 rappers of BTS since they truly love music. They pick up the pen and write. You could differentiate who is truly the ones with real talent and passion. Can you imagine? An artist cancelled her stage at Lollapalooza and, Hobi who ALREADY been working on this album, accepts the opening. DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD THE CROWD IS GOING TO GO!?!? Perfect song! Actually in 2016 there were tons of new ARMYs and a significant part were from the Rock genre. We surmised it was bc of lyrics and unique song composition. Can’t wait to hear the rest of his album!

The hospital scene is a throwback to the Ego MV and the hat is his jester hat. Notice that when he is the most “exposed” as an X-ray is when he says the heart of his message….He just wants to be with fans, enjoy his passion of music that gives him breath and life, he’s past the awards, he’s already bagged those, he’s now pursuing his passion of being creative and artistic (the Dali reference from the artist Dali) music and exploring who he is.

I had NIN and Linkin Park in mind when I first saw the video but the more I watch and listen it’s leaning towards Reznor’s sound more like MCA said about the industrial sounding drums. LP is a little bit more rock opera. There’s a minimalism and starkness to More but has so many layers at the same time. Jack Hoseok what are you trying to do to us???

The title of the album is Jack in the Box, it's Hobi breaking free of the box to express more sides of his artistry. In the promo pictures he is wearing a jester hat and clown shoes. In the hospital bed I think he is wearing a variation of a jester hat, which looks like a brain study. I love this version of Jhope, it's funny how people try to recommend BTS "rock" songs to people, but none of those songs were really rock. J-hope took it there finally. He did an amazing job here. EDIT: Out of previous BTS or solo member tracks RM's "Persona" had the best elements of rock before this one.

it's not strange, it's called grunge. hip hop/rap+ grunge fusion to be exact. it's a whole genre, xxxtentacion did some grunge rap, aswell as a few others. it's just not really popular/ mainstream

Just my thoughts, but the key is literally the key to "more". However, what "more" is exactly, I couldn't even guess. Also, another reactor that I watch believes that a lot of the visuals in this MV are references to the movie "Fight Club". The band isn't zombies, those are acid burns. I've never seen Fight Club, but it's one of the reactor's favorite movies and he saw references in nearly every scene.

I love this💜❤💜 what is so astounding is how they have developed very individual voices for their solo work. All the vocal line have said time and time again how they were influenced by the Rap line ... its not a stylistic thing its obviously this measure of creative authenticity and striving for artistic excellence whilst you tell your own story. RM has said before he believes a song should be both personal and widely relatable. I remember Jimin told a story about working on his Face album. He said with a smile RM came to the studio when they were working. He was sat reading the lyrics. All he said was " I think I see what you were trying to say" all the studio went quiet and after he left they reworked that whole section.

J-Hope is a baddie and a genius at the same time. He doesn't go with the flow or the repetitive stereotype of Kpop genres. He is so unique and bold. There are some points in MV I wanna let you guys know: 2:16 "KitKat" has a double meaning; In Japanese Kit Kat sounds like "kitto katus", which means "you are sure to succeed" or more literally translated as "surely win". Meaning that whatever he does he is bound to succeed. 2:27 he is referring to "Salvador Dali", a famous painter who is known for having a variety of artistic styles and surrealism paintings (He is the painter of " the persistence of memory", better known as the melting clock painting) and the x-ray scene resonates so much with Dali's "Dancer-Skull" painting which was completed in 1932. if you see the painting you see the reference, it was so brilliant! (Dali) here, also actually has a very cool double meaning. In Korean (Dali) means differently, so that line can also be translated to something like "drunk in the artistic paintings, I throw myself out there 'differently' " 3:34 (I'm in my element) is a rough translation of "I'm a fish that met water" and it just links the whole verse together so nicely with water's imaginary ( Yeah, I'm thirsty / I need to go surfin' on the beat / I'm a fish who just met water/ Soak up the music) You see his lyricism is beyond. Chef's kiss. There are lots of references to the movie Fight Club (1999) and also the Jack in the Box movie's main story too. And as you might noticed some screams sound far as if he is in the background, He mightily is portraying screaming in a box (Jack in the box) and the way he's trying to let out his emotion and to break this idol image which is boxing around him. There are a lot about this album actually, the details are sick. so brilliant and genius of him, working 4 years on this masterpiece. And guys, This banger track is actually a b-side and pre-release The main title, along with the whole album is going to be released on July 15. Also, Jhope is the Headliner of the Lollapalooza festival on July 31! So We are going to witness these masterpieces live :) Thank you for your reaction.

The black ear thingies are supposed to be an X-Ray equipment but doubling as a clown headgear. That amazing reaction from 1:49 to 1:59 was my exact reaction as well. It's like "no way, but YES it makes perfect sense!." Who'd have thought, right? J-HOPE in the rap metal genre! He has the voice for it, and could get better and better, look at his range! His melodic rapping, too, is ripe for this genre! This song sent me on a rap-metal spiral, and now, I'm back in my late teens and early 20s in mosh pits crushing over Fred Durst, Chester Bennington, Papa Roach, and Korn.

Rock music and hip-hop are suitable for Jhope's deep voice and high pitch sound. He makes his own unique metal hip-hop in Rock; Jhope is no longer a street performer, but he is the hardest factory workman in his jumpsuits. He seems to want to express behind the dark music industry that constantly copies idols like machines in the box. Even though he has to live as a clown and zombie to become an idol of many people, he still feels thirsty to show his music more more more to his fans so that he can breathe in and out of what he feels is alive. He's a real genius for this metaphor to show a clown and zombie as an idol in the box. Next time, I guess Jhope will come out of the dark box and go to the Sunlights; he will gain freedom as an artist. In chapter 2, he would shout freedom and feel alive outside the box and show more and more his music to more fans.

as for me i feel like key named MORE obviously means it’s going to open the box (and let Jack out) because that track is pre-release beforehand entire album and in the end you can see that 4 rooms from mv was seated in the box and j-hope closes it but without tape so he gonna let Jack out on title track on 15th July 🖤
