Some people say he is talking about 2 versions of V in BU. Conflict is between two V. One V is before he killed his stepfather and another one V After he killed his stepfather. Sin he committed, guilt he experienced trappped him in ice. He knows that to try to explain or make excuse for his action only gonna make things worse. He is living with that guilt. He is in pain. And at the end of the song he is stating, that at that time he didn't see any other way out and asking for understanding, acknowledgment that he is right, or it will be even more devastating and hurtfull if no one will be able to see things from his perspective.

Can we talk about the talent on V here a little bit? His vocals and dancing slayed!!! Anyways, this conflict between losing and grounding ourselves in a relationship is so normal in our first relationships. That’s how we learn and grow, and learn how to be healthy while in a relationship. This vid goes along with the concept Love Yourself. I think BTS is trying to convey these struggles and emotions in the journey of loving ourselves 😊 This is why I stan this group. They may be in their early-mid 20s but their story is deep af. BTS comeback trailer= BTS intro album Its tradition for BTS to have only one member done the intro of the album. All the members(including V for this time) except jin has done the intro. Jin maybe for another album. The intro is a tease as comeback trailer to give a hint how the upcoming album gonna be. I assume its gonna be dark vibe. This actually references the greek mythology Narcissus who was a Hunter but was so beautiful. He disdained everyone & Nemesis convinced Narcissus to look at his own reflections in the lake & he fell in love with his own reflections. He couldn't accept the fact it was not real just a reflection in the end he died. There are so many theories surrounding the comeback tralier and you guys need to look into them. i don't think this is about a girl haha, it's about himself. the video is based on the myth of narcissus! hence his own hand in the jacket, he's caressing himself but it's the illusion of a girl because i think it has to do with the images of celebrities and idols and how they put on a mask and people only love their masked selves, so they start unhealthily molding themselves into that mask and hide their true selves. it's very nicely done

The lyrics are up to interpretation. But the song is called singularity, he talks about not having a voice, been locked under a frozen lake, but eventually spring will come and the lake will unfreeze and flow. If we take this as references it can also mean that you act untrue in order to be loved, not necesarily in a romantic way, but in general, and eventually your true self will appear again, that's the sound he keeps hearing and is not letting him sleep, that's the pain in his throat, the real self that wants to express. Is about anyone of us, faking in order to be liked, to be acknowledge, to be loved. Is about losing our singularity. Is about fake love.

Fun Fact: this was written by Namjoon(RM) in one sitting after getting discharged from the hospital (had an operation due to breathing difficulties). It had no editing done to it and he managed to write a whole song for Tae that not only suits his voice really well but is also the style of music that he really excels at and he also took apart in the production of it. When we say that bts is full of prodigies we mean it

Like the new intro ! When BTS says 'Trailer' it's for the intro song of the albums that are almost all solo songs (i.e. Serendepity, Boy Meets Evil, Nevermind etc). Be prepared for the upcoming album on the 18th, we'll have a new MV and 15 new songs! (+ on the 18th they'll stream a live show to introduce the album, they'll perform at the BBMA's on the 21st and on Ellen on the 25th). As for the MV itself, for me it proves that this comeback is the dark version of Love Yourself Her. First, the reference to Ophelia by Millais and Shakespeare’s Hamlet with the flowers and the water theme. She sings before drowning, and we all know that V jumped into the river and probably drowned. Also, in the lyrics, V says he sees his reflection in water and ice which reminds me of the myth of Narcissus. His reflection and love for himself is his demise. Vanity is one of the Seven Sins, and in Stigma V sings ‘Are you calling me a sinner?’. I also see a parallel between Serendipity and Singularity: Jimin talks about love shaking up his world, the overall mood of the song is brighter and optimistic (the colors, the brightness, the theme) and it ends with Jimin smiling, whereas Tae’s probably singing about the love of himself being his end (the sensual dance with his own hand + Narcissus), it is a lot moodier in general (again the color correction, the instrumental, etc) and the MV ends with Tae crying, reminding me of the Fallen Angel statue in Blood Seat and Tears obviously personifying Sin once again and linked to V’s character (although Jimin was the one crying paint). I also noticed that in both MVs there are weird shots of feet: Jimin crawling back under a blanket and here Tae’s crawling out from the flowers, I don’t know if it has symbolism or if it is done à la Tarantino …

About the MV and song, my theory is that the lyrics and visual representation refers to self-repression, hiding your true essence only to fit others standards/ expectation. Thats way at the end, I think, he puts on the mask with the earing 'loved' which I interpret it like him being afraid to show his true self because he thinks he's already loved by the false construction of himself. He says that he lost his voice, he lost himself, no freedom of expression cuz he denied himself in order to please others and avoid criticism.

“What does it mean?” Isn’t that the question all ARMY ask after every new video? I think one of the concepts of this video/song is about masking your true self either because you think you won’t be loved otherwise or doing it because the other person asks you to. Both correlate with the Love Yourself Tear theme specially knowing the title track is called Fake Love. This is why there are so many masks around and he ends up putting it on (with the earring that says Loved) and crying a black tear. It’s a painful song. “Have I lost myself or have I gained you?” “Tell me if my voice isn’t real” “tell me if I shouldn’t have thrown myself away”.
