Wow, I got really surprised at how you totally understood the meaning of Jin kissing the statue, I've seen many reactions and this was the only one that did that. This video was based on the book Demian of Hermann Hesse and I had to read it to be able to understand the message. It's such a pleasure to see people connecting with art and not just superficially watching BTS for views. Great video!!

So glad to hear that I got an interpretation in the way that they intended me to interpret it for once. It’s such a visceral and riveting scene. I’ll check that book out. I’m very interested in what could have inspired that scene. Also… I didn’t screenshot that comment because it made me feel good… or… maybe I did 😂🫣

I read the book after seeing the MV, too... It is very interesting to watch after having read the book, many things make so much more sense, and it is very interesting to see how they interpret the text into their music and MV.

There is also an explanation video that ties the scenes to the book. You guys are so human and intelligent, I truly appreciate you taking the time to appreciate BTS’ depth as opposed to brushing them off like another boy band. Now you understand why ARMY loves them and why we’re so protective of them. They are artists and if you get it, you get it💜💜💜 Btw, intelligence is being cultured and open minded and you men clearly are, how much respect I have for you both. Can’t wait for the next one.

Linkin Park, Star Wars, Norway, all things I love! You absolutely hit the nail on the head with your description of Jin’s reaction to Abraxas. Having such a visceral reaction to a piece of art in any form can feel almost life changing, my husband had a similar reaction to a painting in the Tate Gallery. The mv is based on Herman Hesse’s novel Demian and theories of Carl Jung. You’ve got yourself another subscriber in me. ✌️💜

I truly think this may be my favorite reaction to BTS ever. From your first reaction I knew you guys would understand and appreciate them and their art. This reaction I could honestly feel the pull you were feeling and it mirrored my own for all these years watching the art BTS has continuously produced. I remember when this video and the short films leading up to it were released and just thinking man I wish everybody could watch and appreciate this for the art it is instead of just relegating it under the boy band label and therefore it must be less than. Thank you for this. 💜

I understand that so well at this point. It’s interesting that now when I tell people about this band and the reactions that we are doing I get asked constantly “Do you like K-pop?” And I don’t really know how to respond anymore beyond just saying, “I like BTS.” It used to just be a flat no. Artistry of this tier demands respect though. I’m so impressed with BTS and with their supporters. 💜

Welcome to the Army side. We all have been very touched by a video or song that made us fans of BTS. For each person is a different song. For me was Epiphany. I cried my eyes out the first time I’ve seen that live version of Jin singing that song during a concert, was incredible. And after that I found songs that made me happy, empowered, reflective, or any kind of emotion that they transmit. Each member of BTS is an absolute artist, so when they are together is really magical.

Just to let you know, BTS has been to Norway, Sweden & Finland about 6-7 years ago for their reality show Bon Voyage. And possibly for vacation at other times, I don't remember. They have a big following there as well. If I recall, a fan girl in Norway or Sweden was chasing one of them in the streets, heh. Even Norway's king, King Harald V, has mentioned them. If they haven't been to that aforementioned park, then they might visit it one day, especially like the artsy ones such as RM. But good reaction & discussions. Many of their songs & lyrics have serious messages in them, some of them socio-political & cultural. This is why BTS has not only set themselves apart from most of KPop, but also set apart from many other artists worldwide. We hope to see you continue your BTS journey as you have only seen the tip of the iceberg with 3 reactions.

This song is based on the novel "Demian" by Herman Hesse. "Manhi, manhi, manhi" is what they are singing. It means "A lot" in Korean or maybe it's about excess in this video. I think this song is about falling to temptation. Evil temptation maybe? V is a fallen angel at the end. I love your BTS reactions! P.S. I am from a pioneer Alaskan family. Me too, me too. Seriously. When I first started looking into BTS, I really thought I was just humoring the people that recommended them to me & fully expected that I'd never connect with them in a real way. OH BOY was I wrong. I can't exactly explain it, but something about how these guys portray these extremely difficult processes in understanding life, existence, the self, all of it, has helped me in ways that little else has. I'm becoming addicted to your reaction XD The all video will be about the lost of innocence to becoming an adult. The boys realising the existence of the dark side of the world, and like you said, they have to accept the evil in themselves because all humans are bad and good. In the book "Demian", the hero grew up in a very christian family (that's why we have many reference to the religion here), but he realise at some point, with the help of Demian, that he has a dark side and he can't ignore it forever. So for the little details you probably didn't notice : -The painting that Jin look at, at the beginning, is "The Fall of the Rebels Angels" and you see that Jin is standing between a white door and a black door. A part of growing up is to reject parental autority, like Lucifer did with God in the bible. -Behind the boy that is flotting in the air, Jungkook, you see the painting call "The Lament of Icarus" and when V, the one on the balcony, jump you see "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus". The two are the innocence lost. -The white statue with black wings that Jin kiss is Abraxas. In the book "Demian", Demian said that the God of christian is too exclusive, we must have God that is goog AND bad. This god is called Abraxas. -Above te mirror, there is a sentence from Nietsche "'One must have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star". -In the book, it said that Sainclair, the hero, see the dark world with vivid color. Once Jin kiss Abraxas and accept the chaos in himself, the color explod as well as the Pieta representing parents. The good world and the bad are meeting each other.

I love your reaction so much, guys ! Thoughtful, smart and emotional. That's the BTS effect !! All the discography of BTS is meaningful, because through their music and albums, they share their growth, thoughts, and history, but made them ... how to say ? Universal ? throught books, thinkers, poetry, psychiatric concepts, they transcend their personal storylife and struggles and made them relatable for everybody, sharing powerful social/personal/philosophical messages. They are not only insanely talented performers, they are artists, the have a way of connecting with you, touching your heart and your soul. No one hits me like BTS do ! More trivia : Blood Sweet and Tears take part of the Wings album/era, (2016) deeply based on a book : Demian, by Herman Hesse. It's kind of coming of age story : Emil Sinclair, a young boy raised in a middle class home, witch existence can be summarized as a struggle between two worlds: the show world of illusion and the real world, detaches from and revolts against the superficial ideals of the world of appearances and eventually awakens into a realization of self, with the guidance of his friend and mentor Demian (his own demon/a devil/ fallen angel...) The books as well as the MV is about the growth, the loss of innocence , the temptations, and stop covering your eyes to discover the reality and the world as it is. (and yourself ). One of the major themes is the existence of opposing forces and the idea that both are necessary. Demian is replete with both Jungian archetypes and Jungian symbolism (that BTS used for their Map of the soul era too in 2019-2020) . The statue with black wings that Jin kiss is the God Abraxas : The Gnostic deity Abraxas is used as a symbol throughout the text, idealizing the interdependence of all that is good and evil in the world. All the purpose of the song is : you have to embrace your dark side to fully became yourself. "One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star., this is the quote you see in german above the mirror, from Nietzch. There is a lot to say about all the symbols used in the setting and the MV, but it will take too long Lol ! Thank's a lot for reacting to BTS, you do a amazing job guys ! New suscriber here.

Inspiration for the video: RM was reading a book at the time called "Damien" whose author is Hermann Hesse. Don't get me wrong, there are other easier eggs within the video. But the inspiration for it was from that book. Thank you for your reaction. I loved your breakdown and how you saw it. BTS always wants ppl to see themselves in their music and determine what a song means to them. Thank you for your view. Lastly, my grandfather is from Olso, I've always wanted to go to Norway, besides my grandfather, you have given me another reason to go...thank you for that..

That's amazing that your grandfather is from Oslo. It is such a beautiful city. And Vigeland Park is something I will never forget. I hope you get the opportunity to go there and experience it yourself.

Thank you so much for this reaction and for recognizing the artistry of BTS. When people call them K-pop, I always cringe a little because they really don’t fit under that title. They are BTS. There is no one like them. I don’t listen to K-pop, I only listen to BTS. because they have something to say that’s important and that people have to hear. They totally changed my perspective on music (and even life and people). 🙏💜💜💜 p.s; I bet Namjoon (RM) would love this reaction ❤️

Having looked at some of your other content, I am quite surprised you would sincerely be interested in BTS and especially to be brought to tears. Hmmmm! I am not a typical fan, so I am open to fans from diverse backgrounds. And there are many men on YT that have wonderful channels supporting BTS (and it's not that they love all the work). I guess I'll see what happens next.

Spring Day is on our list to do. We just have to space out some of these more emotional ones. We didn't expect how emotionally impactful a lot of these songs would be, and it sometimes takes a bit of recovery. haha. Thanks for the recommendation.
